Question about Boge Cartomizers

I just took a boge apart after two days of using. My center wire had black insulation on it, but down closer toward the coil, it had DISINTEGRATED! Maybe this could be the cause of crappy flavor

I have been taking apart my spent Boge's too, just to autopsy what went on inside them. LOL! vaping has turned us into scientists!

Let me ask you something, I have also seen this "disintegration" but it doesn't look like it dissolved to me it looks like it slowly burned up (slowly because I NEVER really got a burnt taste).

Do you think the insulation really dissolved from some sort of chemical reaction with the juice OR do you think it burnt?

Since I started using boges I have only seen the ones like the ones on the left. I havent seen any with any color or coating. I have noticed that they have been more absorbent. Ive been getting mine from Vapor Alley,Vapor Beast and SureVapes they have been very consistant. Only thing is that they have been reading at 2.4 and a bit higher. This might be a reason that when using them with a ego or kgo (3.7 devices) that they seem to not wick well. Since I got my MOD kicked I set it at 8 watts and they have been working so much better. I even had to cut down on the amount of holes from 4 to only 2 very small punches. I dont get dry hits, and tons of vapor, the taste has been extra good since I got my MOD kicked.

The one's I've looked at appear to have been burnt
