Question about FDA stance

So, not sure exactly what the FDA's stance is. I am thinking they want to stop the marketing and sale of e-cig stuff, but not the purchase? Is that correct?

If that is the case, wouldn't it make sense that small orders wouldn't be stopped and held by customs? I haven't heard of any small personal orders being stopped or held, but am thinking about the short term future as this may start to play out. I can see them having a potential reason for stopping large orders by resellers, since if they decide to ban the marketing and sale of PV's, then a large order would be a target.

But, if it doesn't become illegal to buy and use them, it seems to me that small orders from china and such should/would continue to make it through.

Or, have I completely missed something here?

They haven't really stopped supply orders either just hindered them. E cigs are being openly sold in hundreds of malls throughout america. If the federal government wanted to stop this from happening they certainly could. Why haven't they? That is a question which has been the cause of a great deal of speculation but with no concrete answer. They seem to exist in a gray area where they are not illegal to sell, posess or use but are difficult for suppliers to import due to customs issues. Ultimately they will either be allowed or banned. If they are allowed they will likely be heavily taxed and regulated. In the meantime the severe social stigma of smoking has been applied to this product and it has already made many, many enemies. Many believe the SE court case will ultimately decide the fate of these devices but even that is not 100% clear. Only time will tell...

I wouldnt call FDA taking $4000 of mine "hindering" they have stopped me dead in the water. And I am sure when one of these personal $200 orders gets snagged, that person will not call it hindering either.

The personal packages will get caught, just give it time..

That is correct Jay---I have recieved many PM's from member's here who got order caught in the embarko and I know of several Suppiers who literally got put out of business do to it. That is really more then a hinderance.

Well TB also said he had a 2 years supply stocked away, so the order might have been rather significant, no?

Trobical Bob posted this report quite a while ago and I do not think from what I remember that the order was really any bigger then most other orders that we all make from China.
