Hi everybody! My name's Jen and as you may have guessed from my posting in this forum, I am new here. I'm also kinda new to vaping.

I joined this site because I'm very perplexed by something and I wanted to get another opinion.

I've been ordering my e-liquid from "some company" who made a mistake on both of the only two orders I placed, which they rectified but I'm still not sure if they sent me the right stuff. Here's the thing;

I have two bottles of Orange Creamsicle e-liquid. Both are 70pg/30vg. One has a 12mg nic level and it is clear. The other is 6mg nic and it is darker. From my understanding, a higher nic level should be darker, so I'm wondering is this another mistake and the bottles are labelled wrong or is it possible for a 12mg nic level to be clear while 6mg is darker?

In addition to what the others said When referring to nic base your e-liquid is composed of and without regarding the coloring and flavoring, the main element effecting the color is the VG.
VG can be anywhere from clear to shades of yellow and even orange.
The age of the VG or it's degree of purity is not directly related to the color.

An easy way to tell, or somewhat easy way to tell would be to compare the vapes. If they are the same juice and just different nic level, the higher nicotine level will produce more of a throat hit. Despite popular belief, it isn't PG that produces throat hit, it is the nicotine mixed with the pg/vg, and higher pg compliments it. So... your 12 mg juice should produce more of a throat hit than the 6mg.

to ecf JenSalmar. So glad you are here and sorry you are having this particular problem. It is funny how different the juices taste and look from the same vendor. Sounds like a real good reason to get into DIY and make your own. I enjoy saving money so of course I make my own but I have also been happier with what I make. And I am proof that it is very simple. Just something to think about.

While you are trying to find juices that you like, here is a thread where you can find some really good prices of juices on sale.

Good luck to you and happy vaping. Have fun.

Thank you all for your answers. I've done more investigating since then, mainly in an effort to determine if I should do business with this company again as this would be their 3rd mistake if it is indeed a mistake which I now believe it was.

Moneyball, I actually had to vape both simultaneously until I felt like I was losing my mind trying to compare the two, but ultimately the darker and supposedly 6mg is what irritated my throat a little while the clear "12mg" did not.

Furthermore, in reply to suggestions about the liquids being prepared on separate dates, I've checked and both bottles are dated as having been prepared on 12/06/13. The company also claims both were steeped and nicotine was added only once ordered. And both were ordered at the same time. So I believe they mislabeled the two.

Thank you Susan and GrandPapa for your quick replies.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I received both 10 ml bottles at the same time and have had both for about 2 weeks. The 12mg remains clear, while the 6mg is slightly amber colored.

I wouldn't order from them anymore. Two bottles of the same e-liquid ordered at the same time should look identical. It's true that nicotine oxidizes and darkens with exposure to oxygen, light and heat, but my question is why was one bottle exposed to "elements" and the other wasn't?

There are so many great juice vendors out there... :D
