Hi,
When I was vaping before, it was using 2.5 ohm dripping atty's from smart vapes. It worked pretty well, but a bit messy and a pita sometimes.
I got out of vaping for a while, and now, due to just having my arteries cleaned out again, I need to vape again.

I like the Reo Grand. It seems like it will have all the taste and hit of dripping, without having to drip. I want one.
However, I don't really want to get into building/rebuilding atty's. I am lazy and not that accurate of a techie. But I never see anyone using standard atty's on the forums or utube. It's all about the rba's, Reomizers etc...
So I am wondering, do some of you use standard disposable atty's on the reos ?
What about the couple of them that are sold on the Reo site ? Are they good ?
Any thoughts about how well they work on the Reo's and which ones I should get that would give me as good a vape, or close, as the rba's ?

I need to make a move quickly, because I have to get off the damn analogs again.

Thank you,
Floyd

Yes....

The standard reo grand has a larger catch cup. This was designed to use with carto's. This is the one you want.

This should be a good combination for what you are looking for. - good flavor/vapor, no fuss/mess.

I haven't had personal experience with carto's / 510 atomizers, but I know other reonauts have.

The LP version of the reo grand is for use of any sized RDA (rebuild-able atomizer)...

BTW, welcome!

and good choice on deciding to switch :vapor:

The disposable atties aren't quite as good as the rebuildables. However, they do provide a nice vape, and the ones on Robert's site (reosmods.com) are a very good atty for the price. I'd strongly suggest you move to the 1.5-1.8 ohm range though.

Rebuildables aren't that much trouble or difficult, the main difference is you can build them to suit your vaping style, and they are MUCH cheaper in the long run than the disposables. I've been using the same coil/wick in mine for over 2 months and it's still going strong. If you decide to go that route, as many of us have, the RM2 on Roberts site (here) is an excellent one to start with, it's all I use. Easy to build and rock solid.

The rebuildable I linked above is for the "regular", rather than the LP (low profile) grand. If you get the LP grand, it can use either, but looks better with the LP RM2.

Good choice on the REO, it's essentially dripping without having to drip :)

Pop back in if you have any other questions or concerns, we love to help out.

I too resisted the move to rebuildable attys for quite awhile. Seemed hard. Eventually a few of my fellow Reonauts basically taunted me into trying them. I was given one on a loan and was hooked. After you get over your initial fears, you'll find it's easy and in fact....fun. You may find yourself making a new coil when you don't even need one. I'd bet money that you will go to a rebuildable eventually. Why put it off? Ok, I know I haven't addressed your initial question and I apologize--just had to get my 2 cents in. So here goes-- my favorite attys were the bridgeless atomizers from Empiremods. Very good attys at a good price. Good luck.:)

Bushmaster and Ancient puffer, thanks a lot. I will check those links.
So a couple more questions then
Do you find that you bought two reasons and carry one as a spare in case the other burns out while you are not home?

If I buy a red grand lp and a rm2 then I need to buy a pack of some Guage wire and a pack of wics from Reo's site?
And then where do I get an ohm meter and batteries?

Thanks.
Floyd

Floyd, Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor has batteries....Rob recommends AW IMRs. And yes, if you get an RBA, you"ll need wire and some kind of wick. Many of us use cotton wick (instead of the silica on the site.) you can get that anywhere. There are different brands....that's another thread for another day if you decide to go that route. :)

If you're not ready/interested yet in the RBA's, any 510 or 306 atomizer will work with a REO if it has a hole In the bottom. That's where the juice feeds up through. (Many, most...510 attys work on bottom feeders.)

...

Yes, I always carried spares, and, at the time I was using them, I would buy them in bulk, about 20 at a time, since they rarely lasted me more than a week.

And I 2nd what JC Okie said above about RTD Vapor. Excellent vendor to do business with.

Thanks guys. JC oasis is right, I was asking if you carry a spare rba.
Thanks for the vendor recommendation.

So I gather cotton Vapes better than silica?
I've checked utube tutorials for both kinds tonight.
Looks like with the silica you just wrap the coil around the piece of silica. The cotton way required a 16 Guage pin or something to wrap the coil, then thread the twisted cotton through the coil. Sound about right?
I guess I don't need a meter and can just wrap like a 27 Guage around 10 times and I'll be in the ballpark?

Appreciate your advice.

No, ya gotta have a multimeter. Even using the old-style attys, you should have a multimeter to test them. I got mine at Sears for $15 or so. You're really shooting in the dark without a multimeter. It's not even close to being safe.

Thanks Built 4feel. Appreciate the welcome. Yea I'm not looking for a Carto. I used to use the bridgeless dripping atty bit I don't know of it was a bottom feeder or not probably not since I used to feed it from the top.

We are not allowed to post a link to the classys but a heads up for Grand in there now and it comes with a RM2. :)

The meter doesn't just verify your resistance - it also helps make sure there are no unanticipated problems such as shorts, loose screws, etc (all of which show up on the meter as 'wrong' readings). It's an invaluable tool for rebuilding. It's also very easy to use.

Rebuilding prolly sounds like a PITA to you now, but it's benefits far outweigh any hassle and learning how to do it takes mere hours (including video research).

Hole size depends on your style of vaping, whether you mouth to lung hit, lung hit, the build, etc. Many folks get by just fine with the stock size air intakes in the Reomizers and other atty's. I'm a very long lung hitter that hits until the lungs are full, so I like larger holes in mine... around 3/64"-5/64". Even have a Cyclone that has been enlarged to 7/64", near big enough to park a Cadillac in.
