I'll be flying south (DR) for a week and was wondering about vaping and airport security at YYZ.

Going through the Canadian forum it seems that the last time this was discussed was back in the summer of '09. Needless to say air travel has once again been dealt a whammy with the recent events over the holidays & I don't want to take any chances with being pulled aside at security. My airline has nothing posted on their site about ecigs being allowed in carry-ons.

Could the frequent flyers in the forum do us a favour by sharing their recent experiences?

Can't help you much, can't think who who DR are, she thumps her head, do recognize Toronto though.

Air Canada did briefly ban e-cigs last year in carry-on but lifted that, presumably because our type of battery is usually banned from check-in due to a possible fire hazard.

Perhaps you need to check your airlines rules re hazardous materials.

Posting your query in the travel forum might get more results.

Good luck and happpy travels!

I last flew through Toronto to and from Orlando in Oct. 2009 ... carried half my supplies in carry on bag and other half in checked baggage with no problems (split the supplies up in case of any confiscation). In fact my carry on was full of elctronic stuff and was pulled out for inspection twice ... my heart skipped a beat but it wasn't the ecig stuff that caught their attention ... they didn't even look twice at my juice bottles. I don't think anything will have changed unless your flying to/through the US. I'm assuming DR is Dominican Republic. I'll be flying to Cuba through Toronto in a couple of months and plan on doing the same. I'm a little worried about Cuban security/customs ... should probably look into it a bit.

As for vaping while travelling i made many visits to airport washrooms ... although i was tempted on the plane(s) i didn't.

Flew from Vancouver to Vegas with my 510 and PCC. Security was tight and the guards were going through everything in your pockets. The guard zeroed in on the PCC, asking "what's this thing". I explained what it was and how it works. No problems bringing it on board and he wanted to know where he could get one for himself.
