Just started vaping after 26 years of tobacco, great stuff! I have a question for long term vapers (ie >2 years since smoking tobacco). Do you feel 100% healthy? Also for people that long term vaped and then quit vaping - did you notice any change in your wellbeing/energy/health etc. Because there's no long term studies been done yet what I'm trying to get at is how long term vapers feel in general compared to when they quit vaping - this would be a good indication of how vaping affects people practically long term.

I switched to vaping-only in June of 2010. I don't notice any dramatic change in my health, except that I seem to be getting fewer colds, and my dentist is impressed by how much healthier my gums are, and my teeth are whiter.
At my age, I doubt that anyone feels "100% healthy." :)
I really love vaping, and don't plan to quit.

I only quit smoking a little over a year ago, and after 34 years of smoking and at my age being "100% healthy" is asking a lot. However I can say that I feel much better than I did before I quit smoking. Like dordas, I noticed fewer colds and when I do get them they are lower in intensity. My oral health is much better according to my dentist. I no longer get winded from going up a couple flights of stairs and I can get on a treadmill a few time a week and not feel like my lungs are going to explode. My smoker's cough is gone and my blood pressure is lower. Stamina and energy levels have increased. I also don't feel like ripping somebody's head off if I can't vape for a couple of hours.

So, I'd smoked for 30+ years. I've vaped for 3 now. I don't cough, i have a sense of smell, i don't have to clear my throat all the time.My BP and circulation are/is better. Every cold used to turn into bronchitis. I've only had two colds since i switched. Both lasted a much shorter time, and neither became bronchitis. ETA: my dentist is happy with me too.

Even with the minor risks, switching to vaping was probably one of the best things I've ever done.

I'm getting to my 2 year mark here pretty quick and I can tell you I have had several benefits that include a return to tasting food again, better lung function, better hydration, I drink a lot more water (with a splash of fruit juice) when vaping, better sense of smell as well as just feeling more healthy in general.

And I have not just quit smoking but since vaping have reduced my nic level from 24, to 18, to 12, to 10, to 6 and even a few 3mg liquids as well as reducing my PG from 100% to 20%.

So yea, there are great benefits and as your lungs heal from your years of smoking and your body repairs from all the free radicals from analogs you should notice positive changes as well!

Thanks for everyone's replies, all very encouraging.
I'd be really interested to hear from people that long term vaped and then quit vaping altogether - did they notice any difference in the few months after quitting vaping in their general wellbeing. I guess those people aren't on these forums any more :)
Also long term vapers that actually have full health checks, lung checks etc - certainly the short term effects appear to be minimal from everything I've heard and read...

My wife says that two weeks after my last analog-and all the while near-constant vaping---my lungs weren't "whistling" while I slept.
The "whistling" is a common symptom of the onset of emphysema. When the lungs have finally gotten so scarred and desiccated by the smoke they can't maintain healing at a rate sufficient to maintain O2. I dodge that bus by the skin of my teeth.
I am a grateful guy, because after 30 plus years of 2 packs of reds a day, I much prefer the idea of a APV over a hose under my nose and an O2 tank on wheels.

Former 27 year smoker here. Quit smoking five years ago, been vaping over 3 years.... I'm 100 PERCENT healthy now! I have my 'teenage' voice back, my lungs back (no coughing or phlegm, unless I contract a cold or flu, which is practically never anymore).... I've ALWAYS had high energy, even when I smoked, but vaping has restored for me what smoking was slowly eroding away at. I can now taste the subtleties in foods, I can smell again, (wasn't even AWARE I couldn't smell anything when I was smoking! lol).... I used to have lots of phlegm in my lungs with a tiny bit of 'smoker's cough'..... (I smoked about a pack a day).
I grew up in a smoking household so typical 'smoking homes' smell wasn't something I ever noticed until I quit.... now when I enter 'smoker's' homes it's just an awful experience, and I had no idea when I smoked how badly I smelled to non-smokers.

I loved smoking... it was one of the hardest things I ever had to give up... but vaping is to me what smoking could only 'aspire' to be. I don't believe I'll ever quit vaping. Nicotine prevents depression for me... :smokie:
