Question on 510 Cartos?

How many drips will a new 510 carto hold? I just got mine in the mail today and lost count when filling one. If I had to guess, I put somewhere around 40+ drips in it. Did it till I saw a tiny bit of juice pop out the battery end. Then when I went to try it out, first hit was good, second hit was gurgling and had juice come out. Using the condom-fill method and I put it in a bag and spun it. Watching the videos, just showed them filling it and spin it, then put some more liquid in, then clean off carto ends and then vape. Is it best to do one last spin to ensure that no juice remains in the airway? Maybe it was just a fluke? Or to much liquid for it to absorb?

Also noticing that it sounds different then a regular cart and atty, is this normal? It sounds like I'm sucking air through a straw, but with the cart and atty setup it made almost no sound at all.

I can get about 30-40 drops in my 510 cartos I get from vaporsheaven.com but some droppers are different too. also, I use a seringe to fill my cartos. if any liquid gets in the airway I'll use a bent paperclip from the threaded end and move in and out carefully, wiping after each "out". for me this works...

I always put 30 drops in the cap, push the mouth side in slowly, cap it up, drop it in a bag and spin it around, uncap it, 10 more drops in a cap, push it back in, cap it up and spin...40 drops in a blank. Gotta love it!

Try putting the paperclip in the screw hole end to the draw side and spin the cartomizer like a basketball on your finger it spreads the juice out allowing more..... That's what I do and it works great

I've been using Kr8 cartos for a while, and just got my first 510 cartos...

Getting 20-30 drops in the 510 without doing the Taryn Spin. I am a frequent user of the condom fill method for the Kr8s, but there seems to be a lot of dead space in my 510s so dropping is easier and cleaner (for me).

Be careful with the paper clip in the carto -- you could inadvertantly dislodge the atomizer wire. Many people do a soft blow/puff from the mouth end after filling to get rid of excess juice in the airway (you should be able to see straight-thru) -- don't forget to wipe off your battery end! Also, a piece of tissue paper rolled small to fit in the airhole will wick it out nicely.

You can do a "thermometer shake" to get the juice to settle down before adding more drops (make sure the battery end has it's cover on) and also, sometimes I hold the carto vertically in between my hands and roll it back and forth briskly several times. This seems to help get the juice soak in the wicking and out of the airway. (Don't know the name for this method, it is the way we mix small IV solutions as a nurse)

Gurgling sounds means it's overfilled. Cracking/popping sounds means it's filled just right!

The 510 carto has a significantly louder draw than the Kr8s I've been using. And an easier draw, too. I have read several posts where the sound and airy draw is a negative. Not for me, though! Really liking them.

pokeygizmo, you're just the person I've been looking for! I need an opinion of the comparison of performance between the 510 and kr808 cartos. I'm using the 510s when I drive But being a 901 guy I'm not too pleased with the flavor production of the 510s. Are the kr8s any better in your opinion?

I've noticed a huge reduction in flavor when using the 510 carto. With the atty and cart setup the taste is strong and good, but with the carto the taste is much weaker. The airflow on the carto is nice and easy.

I don't want to take this thread off track but i do have a question about 510 cartos.

I have been looking at getting some now and was wondering how long they last compared to an atty? When i say "how long they last" i mean entire lifespan like how many times can you refill it. Also there seems to be several different types and i was looking at the refillable ones on madvapes. Any suggestions on a particular type/vendor? Thanks

Soooo... I have been the proud owner of my 510 cartos since ... yesterday! My brief compare is this -

The juices taste different on each of them. I find that the 510 brings out a subtler flavor that I don't get on my Kr8s (premium and regular). On some juices that is good, on other juices it changes what I apparently like about the juice.

Menthol Example: The 510 brings out some of the softer, undertones in my menthols and dulls some of the "brightness" of the menthol/alcohol/citric acid that I dislike. This is a good thing. I am finding that some of the menthols that I didn't like on my Kr8 I LOVE on the 510 carto (VV Menthol). Then again, some of my original juice will remain Kr8 carto menthols(V4L's Smilin Menthol) -- it is the flavor I fell in love with, good on the 510, but not the same and not what I expect from that flavor.

Novelty Flavors -- so far I have tried TV Cafe macchiato and Ms. Ts French Toast on both cartos. Again, subtle differences in flavors, both good. I think the 510 may be better at bringing out the quiet undertones -- haven't quite decided, still a work in progress...

I get good TH from both, maybe a little more vapor from the 510 carto.

Bottom line is that I'll be keeping and using both -- that's what adapters are there for, right ?

Regarding longevity of the 510, hard for me to say this early on but I am guessing that YMMV -- just like with the Kr8 cartos. So far I have been refilling and using the same 510 since yesterday, no problems, no change in taste, vapor, all is good. I have had tremendous success with the 808 cartos (V4l regular and premium). I have only tossed 5 since starting to use them in March. Some of them have been retired to the "rainy day" tackle box, but are still useable. Most, after a thourough cleaning, vape like new.
