I just got it today, finally!

I've watched all the videos, but none of them seem to have addressed this particular question I have regarding this set up.

I'm using a regular 510 atomizer. There is a gap left at the top when I use either window. I see the clear window is taller than the stainless steel one, but neither close that gap. The only way to not have a gap is to leave off the top piece and just use the very top piece that has the o-ring and 510 tip adapter.

BUT, if I do this, that part doesn't screw on properly onto either window... it doesn't quite fit over the o-ring that's on the window, and it just sort of squishes it down.

So how exactly am I supposed to put this thing together using a regular 510 atomizer?

It will work the way you have it set up. And, yes, on mine the top cap didn't totally cover the o-ring on the window either. I assume they are all that way, but I'm sure others will chime in here. I liked mine best when using XL cartos - you get to use the full capacity that way - or with the atty extension.

Nope, this was brand new out of the package.

I pre-filled it, screwed it down tight when the juice control was open, then completely closed the juice control as well as the air control.

Put it all together, and proceeded to vape... the darn thing was gurgling like crazy, started to open the air flow a tiny tiny amount, just enough to barely get air flow then got a mouth full of juice.

Perhaps the juice that was in the collector tank was juice that leaked out from the connector on the carto..?

It's a stainless carto, yet the connector appears to be aluminum, which I'm not too keen on... but anyway, not a pleasant experience so far. :(

My only 510 atty isn't working properly, so that's why I tried a carto. I'd try a CE2 for shirts and giggles, but they leak from the connector anyway, so there's no point.

Guess I'll tuck this away until the Odysseus parts are ready.

With all due respect for my more experienced GG friends, I don't pre-fill a carto for just the reasons you experienced. I'm sure for my unit it was user error but I had to start with a dry carto and prime it to get it working properly. I still use that approach on my UFS.

One other thing I found (that I already knew and had simply forgotten) is that the same cartos we pay a couple of bucks for are mass produced for pennies. Since the UFS works on the principles of suction, if you get a carto that doesn't thread on and sit relatively straight, it will do as you describe.

I have had some cartos that the threads were so crooked on that they wouldn't clear the opening in the top hole they go through to have the O-ring under the mouthpiece seal them. In that case you have 2 things working against you: 1. The base where it screws in through the bottom cup will have a larger area for juice to leak out and 2. When at that much of an angle, the top O-ring simply doesn't get the seal it needs for the suction to work for you.

All that to say when I get new cartos, I still keep a couple of old stick 808 and 510 batteries just to go through and sort out the ones that have threads that are more crooked than what I feel will work. :)
