I've been using an ego twist since I first quit tobacco about 4 months ago. Fortunately it was released just as I started vaping.

I've been considering the leap to a Provari but would like to know specifically from those who own and have used both products, if the cost of the Provari is going to yield greater satisfaction commensurate with the much higher cost.

In order to make my decision, I'd really appreciate comments only from those who have actually used both.
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Yes and no...these are my two primary PV's for daily use. I carry the Twists to work, and use a Provari at home. Is the Twist as good? No. Is it $130 better? only you can answer that. I'm very happy with it and don't regret buying it for a minute.

I'm getting ready to order another Twist or two, because I know mine will die at some point. I doubt the Provari will die in my lifetime, based on the build quality. However, I don't think there's an objective answer to your question.

The Provari is very much worth every penny. I just got my 2nd Provari in the mail today. You also get a much wider Voltage Range. And it feels so good in the hand.
The Twist is great for going out if you want a more pocket friendly device.
Bigger items like the Rebuildable atomizers, Genesis Atomizers, DCTs, and Vivi Novas also look better on the Provari since they don't bulge out atop the battery...

If you're considering purchasing a Provari, i say GO FOR IT!!! it, IMHO, is the BEST device on the market at this point...

Thank you RsK0807! I appreciate your advice.
I was kind of thinking along the same lines - using the Twist when I go out (not often) and the Provari at work and home.
By the way, that is one impressive piece of gear sitting on top of the black Provari! It looks like it could blast atoms! :)
What is that?

The Provari has a bit more range and allows you to really dial in as far as knowing exactly how many ohms your atty/carto is pulling versus the voltage you can use. However I simply adjust by taste and about the only time I use the ohm's function is to check a new coil I just made.

For me the biggest downside to my Twist is the battery, I have several spares for the ProVari but when the Twist runs dry on battery power it is out of the game till it is recharged. A would expect barring me damaging it in some manner my Provari should last years, far outliving my Twist.

The ProVari was my first mod after the stick batteries and I have used it daily from day one. However I also like my Silver Bullet with a Kick just as well. Something to think about if you don't really need the LED readout...

Your story mirrors my own, and I just got my provari in Friday. So far I'm in love with it. The Provari has a slightly higher range of voltage on both ends and the ability to move through them in .1 increments.

IMO where the Provari shines is in the quality of the build, it's a rock solid build and looks it.

The deciding factor for me was the life of the battery. I've been told that you can expect a 3 to 6 month life out of the twist, then you'll have to drop another $30, whereas the you'll only have to buy $13 batteries when they die in the provari.

Then there's the recent issues I've read of the twist failing catastrophically with the potential for injury or property damage. The Provari is stainless steel and has a vent hole in the base should the battery fail.

While the Provari is heavy, as an owner of both, I'm glad I made the investment.

I totally agree with you regarding the ego battery - which is why I have two twists at work and two at home - and keep them charged.

I'm going to look into the Silver Bullet and the Kick. I know they're both very popular.

I have and use both. The main advantage of the Twists, for me, is that the 650mAh version fits into my pocket. (I wear a semi-fitted black suit jacket every day.) The Provari, even the Mini, isn't really pocket-friendly--it is just too heavy. (Neither, for that matter, is the 1000mAh Twist, which is looooong.)

To be honest I keep both of them within the 3.8-4.4 range, so it could be argued that I don't take full advantage of the VV capabilities. But the Provari Mini, as stated, is a phenomenally built piece of equipment which should last a very long time.

In short, you won't be deprived if you don't have one. But it is very, very nice :)

I have 4 twists and 4 Provaris. My twists mainly get used for taste testing my DIY with an atty on top.

I am mainly a LR vaper I like my atties and my cartos down in the 1.5 to 1.7 range. The twists are fine with this usage but they are real lightweights when it comes to how long they function before they start dying.

My Provaris are all V2's and full sized and built like tanks. I think with the proper care they might just outlive me. There is much to be said for popping out a low battery and popping in another one vs having to plug in a twist to charge.

I also have Silver Bullets and a couple of kicks. When kicks are in stock and you can get one they are good in a Silver Bullet or a Helix. The problem is Evolv tightly controls how many they release to distributors for sale.

The Silver Bullet is also built very well and it's a good device at 3.7 with or without a kick. You just aren't going to get the same hit without the kick in there.

I generally use Carto tanks on my Provaris and my Silver Bullets. Both can support them very well and they look good on the devices.

As far as I'm concerned with my current inventory of devices everything I have is well worth every penny I spent to get them.

As long as you stay in the 2 ohm and above range in atomizer resistance, you can use the full voltage range of the Twist. With a 1.5 ohm carto or atty, you can't vape above 3.7v due to current draw, but you wouldn't need to at that resistance.

Twist is a use and toss ecig, like the original eGo. When the battery is dead and won't hold a charge, it's design to be a throwaway. IMR batteries for the Provari are much cheaper and are also safer than Li-ion. As someone said, you can carry a spare battery with you and swap it out without having to deal with a charger and wait time of the Twist.

In the long run, the Provari will eventually be cheaper to own and operate. It can be repaired by Provape in the U.S. if it breaks. The stainless steel construction is precision machined and tough as nails.

I carry my Provari in a flashlight holder on my belt. Had to do that because carrying e-cigs in my pocket has made me much too familiar with the smell of burning atomizers, and it's much too hefty to wear from a lanyard. But I wouldn't purchase the Twist because of it's "convenient size"; I'd purchase it because I don't have a back-up.

Thank you for your input DaveP! Your point about the Provari eventually being cheaper (and perhaps easier to operate) is what's made me a little reluctant. I keep getting the feeling that as soon as I pull the trigger, Provape is going to announce the new and improved model. That's just the way it goes with consumer technology.

What I'm picking up from all of the comments thus far is that the Provari is made better, will last longer and has greater functionality due to replaceable batteries.

However, I'm not getting the sense that the Provari is going to provide a better vape than the Twist.

Thank you scarf-ace! Your input pretty much sums it up for me. It doesn't seem as though the Provari is going to make for a better tasting vape experience - only that it's better made, will last longer and can use replaceable batteries. That being the case, I think I'm going to save myself some money and stick with the Twist until Provari or Darwin come out with some other new innovations / designs at a lower price.

As for the 650mAh Twist, I'm totally with you on that. I too opted for 650mAh despite the fact that one Twist at that capacity doesn't last me an entire day. The size of the 650mAh is worth the tradeoff in my having to keep two Twists on hand (two at work and two at home).
