So I have a question. Ive been stocking up on cartomizers and then read somewhere they only last two weeks. My question is...What is the life on UNOPENED carts?

I've been seeing a lot of people posting about problems with their orders. I just want to say, Relax...Call them or just post in the comments section in your next order. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine if you were working in the shipping section. Most likely chaotic. I can't even imagine packing thousands of orders. We're all bound to make mistakes sometimes :p

I can't help but think that that has to be a typo. Why would they tell you to get a lot of cartomizers and then tell you they only last 1-2 weeks?

I have heard 6 months is an estimated lifespan for sealed cartomizers. Especially these ones from V4L that come with the stopper in one end. I wouldn't be surprised if they had an even longer shelf life.

Kimmy,

If you're talking about this paragraph:

And so, I wanted to take a look at the brands and models that come with their own disposable atomizers (cartomizers)–and I think you should too. Because, if you asked me what kind of electronic cigarette you should get, the number one thing I’d say is: get the one you’ll use. If yours breaks too often, if it’s too hard to replace parts, if you don’t have the time to clean the atomizers, if you hate refilling carts, then you won’t use your electronic cigarette. If you’re serious about changing the way you smoke, but you honestly don’t think you can handle the maintenance, then get one that is perhaps more pricey, but easier for you to use. And order a lot of cartomizers. They last about 1-2 weeks each.

I think he's talking about how long they last until you "consume" them. I would not be concerned unless you see the term "shelf life".

I don't think the 1-2 weeks mentioned is shelf life.

I have been wondering about shelf life as well... My biggest question is whether it's better to store them as they are, "wet" or whether it's better to vape them and store the "dry".

Only time will tell, but my logic tells me that the juice should be OK for at least 12 - 24 months when stored properly. And I can't really see that a carto with caps in place will degrade in a shorter period than that.

I received my first order last week...the 'instructions' indicate that it is best to use the cartomizers within two weeks after you remove the plastic endcaps. I did not notice anything about "shelf life", although I'm sure it is much longer than 2 weeks. I suppose most of us smoke what we order long before any projected "shelf life" expires anyway...

Btw, I am a newbie to these e-cigs, and I absolutely love them! The Vapor King is my first. My friend (a truck driver, who used to smoke 2 packs a day) introduced me to the e-cig after he picked up a starter kit (njoy) at a truck stop. He barely smokes "analogs" (lol picking up the lingo quick ;)) now- which is quite a feat for him. I figured if it was helping him, it would surely help me. So I did some research online, and thanks primarily to this forum, I was able to choose a most excellent e-cig as my 'first'. Thank you all for the 411! I smoked one analog yesterday, and today was my first try without a real cig- I have no craving. I'm vaping the 8 strength, and it seems to be working well. Super happy with my purchase. :D

Thanks for the welcome, Pawpaw & Taryn! :) I've found myself popping on here quite a bit in the last week, finally decided to register.

Pawpaw...I'm embarrassed to admit I don't get what you typed up there...("by yourself or with someone"..etc..) A joke that went over my head perhaps? I've just been trying all my carts (they sent me 5 assorted freebies with my order!) so I've been puffing away like crazy. lol I'm sure it will subside...I'm just like a kid in a candy store at the moment and way too happy (& amazed) about not wanting a real .....

Just want to say, "What up, Stroudsburg!" I grew up down the Northeast Extension in the Lansdale area, and spent many a winter weekend on the slopes of Camelback

WOW, that just got me thinking of yet another great advantage of the e-cig... I remember sitting on ski lifts desperately trying to light a cigarette in the face of wind and snow (not to mention keeping it dry)... which would obviously not be a problem with an e-cig! Of course, accidentally dropping an e-cig off of a chair lift would be a lot more upsetting that dropping a cigarette... but, then again, a Leaford Lanyard would solve that problem perfectly! :D

Anyway, Hi Kimmy... I hope all is well in PA! :)
