I have to try to get some closure on this and would appreciate the help greatly! Let me start with my setup. A Bolt, running an 18650, with a Kick. Boge 3.0 ohm cartomisers, 24mg 50/50 juice, always from the same vendor, but several different flavors. I was first using a Lavatube with all the same setup, and was usually happy between 4.3 to 4.5 volts depending on where my battery life was. If you do the conversion right from volts to watts, that should put me between 6 and 7 watts. Probably about 6.75 watts to hit 4.5 volts. However, I just can't seem to get the taste or TH right. I also see a slight drop in my vapor production from the LT. But, I am more concerned about the taste/TH. The other thing is, most people I know with a Kick (in the Bolt too at that), and most people on youtube doing reviews of the Kick, seem to be running it in upwards of 7.5 to the full 10 watts. And, still on 3.0 ohm carto's? Is taste THAT subjective? Because, even though I know the Kick itself is not capable of a burnt taste. I feel that if I go above the 7 watt mark, it tastes burnt? However, my friend at work uses the same everything I do, and his seems to taste fine to me at 7.5 watts? Could it be the juice I am using (even though he uses the same place and mix)? However, if it is, then why was it okay on the LT? Sorry, just very frustrated with a setup that I thought would be so much better than my LT, however, I find myself reaching for the LT all the time because I just can't seem to dial in this freaking Kick. Also, I have tried 2.0 ohm carto's cause I know the 3's could be above 3.0 ohms (which isn't friendly to the Kick). And honestly, it seemed about the same. Please help. Thank You in advance!

I have 3 Kicks....in a VMod XL (no issue), Silver Bullet (no issue) and a Bolt (issue).....I found that if the connector does not allow enough air to flow freely...it always gave me a harsh/burnt vape....I had to take a Dremel and grind down the upper 2-3 threads on the connector on the Bolt...that fixed my issue.

Dont know if it would be the same fix for you...but thought I would offer my experience.

I DIY 95+ percent of my juices...and vape like you...24mg, 50/50 or higher VG....in 2.0 Boges

Cool! Thanks Shado. You know, those Bolt 510 connections are not too forgiving at all. When I first got my Bolt I couldn't hardly find a carto that would actually screw in to it! Luckily I found a 510-510 adapter that did fit and corrected that problem. I did get an unsealed one to help with air flow, but it may not still be allowing enough air to help the burnt taste. I will admit, I am a little worried not being mechanically inclined about screwing my threads up doing what you did. I guess you just sort of ground down a few top threads smooth? Or just eliminated some of their thickness? Let me know if you read this how you did it if you can. But Thanks a ton for the advice! I was afraid I was the only one having this happen with the Kick!

Hey Cowboy...yea....i just strated taking downt he threads....and kept trying a vape...the top thread is absolutely gone...and the ones below it are very small...basically i just used a small stone tipped bit and started reaming it around the top....

Took maybe 5 minutes or so....the threads go aways pretty quickly...so...just do a bit at a time and keep QTips and some liquid cleaner ( I used Vodka )...and wipe out the threads real good and take a toot and see if more needs to be removed.

Remember...its easier to remove more than to try to replace... lol

Just an add on....I have....

3 - Pro Varis
5 - LT's - (had to do the thread deal on one of these too)
6 - Twists
and the 3 Kicked Mods....

and performance is about the same.....I think of the Kick as a lazy mans vape gear...set it and forget it..

Cool! Oh, and Thanks for the tips! Man, you have some cool gear. But it is nice to hear that I am not missing some heavenly experience seeing as I do not have a Provari or Darwin or something. Although I would still love to have one of these one day, it makes feel more satisfied with what I currently have! Thanks again!

Yea....you really have to view vaping gear just like cars.....they all get you where you want to go....its just some are heavier, different material, ride a bit smoother, some overpriced, others very resonable, etc....then decide how much YOU want to spend, and what you expect from them.

I dig all my gear, and each has its own pros and cons....there is NO perfect setup for all....it is what You deem to be worthy over all, and the ability to accept their ups or downs or limitations.

Above all...DONT get caught up in the "FanBoy" crap...buy what you want and let others spend their money on what they want...and you will be a very happy vaper in the long run.

Good point! It is easy to become a "collector" in the vape world. Which I will admit I enjoy, but lately I have been doing stuff like personal art work and wraps and stuff on my mods to make them "different." It makes it nice and personalized and I get that enjoyment. Other than a few bucks here and there on drip tips I may not need, everything else is pretty much just my time instead of money.
