Time for another question :) But I think this one will be an easier answer. In a previous order I picked up this:
GP901 Automatic Kit
and it came with a usb car adapter which was a very nice little extra.

Now I'm waiting on 2 of these to arrive:
Joye 510 Passthru with Inline Battery

And I'm wondering, can I throw one of these 510 passthroughs in my car along with the usb adapter from the 901 and be able to use them together? This would make me very happy if they're compatible.

I just got my first order from GP (I know - what took me so long?) and I have a couple of questions -

The GP510 batteries seem to act odd in my chargers. the charger lights up and goes red as it should but the tip of the battery stays on the whole time. I checked 5 out of the 10 I ordered (and there were 11 in the box and one with gold connectors that is shorter than all my other 510's - Thanks for the extras!) and they all did the same thing. Do I just need to wait until the tip goes off (charger should turn green at that point)

The smaller battery has gold connectors but acted the same way but I noticed over time that my chargers light turned orange-ish (not red anymore) and the tip dimmed?? What gives? I only have 2 chargers to test with so I can't afford to burn them out if for some reason the batteries aren't compatible. The batteries are not getting hot and when I tested the polarity they were fine.

I also ordered 10 packs of carto's and of the 3 packs I opened the center posts were countersunk. They were actually lower than rim of the "negative" sleeve. Is that why they were on clearance? Just wondering...it seems a pain to have pull up posts on 50 of them. Just for S&G purposes, I did put a couple on a GP510 battery and they did not fire until I lifted the posts quite a bit...some of them are sunk in so far that I am worried about pulling the post out of the rubber insulator. The center post seems very flimsy compared to all of my other cartos (as far as wiggling very easily)

Am I just spoiled? If so, just tell me to man up and deal with it, I can take it!

On the other hand...I love the aluminum DT I got. very comfortable in the mouth and fits my e2 carto's and 510 attys like a glove!

I think these batteries are from a different production run or a different supplier, because the batteries in the650 mah kit that i bought recently do the same thing. The light stays on the whole time while it is charging even when the charger turns green. Oh and Rob is pretty good about sending extra things with orders. On my last order, one of the batteries had a problem, and he send me a replacement battery with a return envelope and inside there was a 30ml bottle of juice as well. Needless to say i was surprised by his generosity.
hope this helps with your question

The way the 510 passthru was designed, yes this will work.
When plugged in to an adapter or usb port, it only draws current to charge the inline battery.
When you push the button to vape, it only draws power from the battery, and not the power source.

So the power source, including adapters only needs a rating of 500mah.

Same goes for eGo PT batteries.

Now for the older style 5 volt passthrus, they need over 1000mah, so other than a USB port, you cant use
them unless the adapter is rated for 1500mah or higher.

(just read the top half for the answer, and sorry if the bottom half is confusing)

Yes, the 510 batteries on clearance are from a different run....they are still good to use.

Now the cartos on the other hand, they are just a good price, that sometimes to connect,
you may have to pull the center contact to use on the cheaper 510 batteries, but joye or ego batts should be ok.

Thanks for the quick response. One batt did go green on the gharger and the LED flashed so I am sure they are fine. I did use that battery and they seem to push the same to my carto's. I didn't check them with load though, but all were 2.5-2.9 ohm Which is great. It seems like maybe they just got packed too tight or something. The 5th pack I opened was fine. The post stiffened when I lifted them, so my guess is that they got pushed too far inside the rubber insulator grommet. They do vape like a champ!

I will definately be ordering again from GP!

Rob, love your new mod parts line, you can expect me to buy all my stuff from you from now on.

Noticed one error .. you have the wrong picture on the 4-pin 5v regulator, shows a 3-pin TO-220. No big deal, just thought you would like to know.

Will get together an order tomorrow. Thanks again, Alan

Hi Rob-back with another question. Getting sick of me yet?

So I've been reading about this PT (which I am totally in love with!) here on the forum and a lot of the posts have me worried about it frying my computer. I haven't had any problems or issues so far, and likely it's a case of me reading too much and not totally understanding what I'm reading. Anyway, many people seem to recommend using the PT with a usb wall adapter. I have a few of those already that came with my various kits. So I'm thinking, I can plug the PT into one of those-perhaps? Where it gets sticky is-I have no clue about all this electrical stuff and what these different numbers mean. So I figured I'd post what I have, and if you'd be so kind as to tell me which ones I can safely use to power the PT I'd greatly appreciate it!

21stcenturysmoke charger: output 5v==0.2A
510 charger: DC 5V +/-0.5V 500mA +/-50mA
KR808D-1 charger: 4.7V==0.08A
EGO charger: 5V==0.5A
901 charger: DC5V +/- 0.20V DC500mA +/- 30mA

Thanks a bunch Rob! :)
