Greetings all, had a question maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I've been using my ejoye 510 for a while now, and have found that altho there seems to be a good amount of material in the cartridge to put my liquid on, only about 1/2 of it ever gets turned into vapor, and I have to keep putting 2-3 drops on every hour or so with heavy use if I want to keep getting any flavor. I can keep getting vapor and the throat hit without doing this, but I get that lovely burnt taste. Any suggestions, tips, or tricks anyone can give me or point me towards?

Welcome to the ECF.

My experience is that "topping off" a cart after a few hours is pretty normal. There are a few ways I have used to help. When I set the e-cig down, I place it either atty downward or flat- this allows gravity to bring more of the liq to the atty area. You may have to deal with some leaking though. Also there are quite a few cart modifications that can help hold more liq and also help with wicking to the atty.

Yeah a lot of people will poo-poo these cart mods, but I have been vaping a long time and many of them are very easy and work. I still use modded carts. If you are interested, take a look at the various posts by doing an Advanced Search for the key words: cart mod.

Ah, that clears it up quite a bit! I'm considering going with either the 510T or a drip tip soon.

I liked having the carts for a little while on my Blu (I was a noob and was distracted by slick advertising), but the freedom of having an atty and carts I can refill, clean, reuse is amazing.

And I just realised the new thread I made could have been put here as a continuation. Dag-nabbit.

Wait, did we ever find out what hes using? Is it an atty/cart or a carto or what? If its a carto then yea topping off (from the top) is normal, if its an atty/cart then topping off (from the bottom) is still normal. If your using an atty/cart its time to upgrade. Before you upgrade to a "T"(tank) kit (meh) you really should try some good cartos, like the SR Boge cartos from VaporBeast $7.22 shipped for a 5 pack.
These will greatly improve your vaping, personally I would take a 510 battery with a Boge carto upper over a 510 battery with a "T" upper any day.

Edit
You could have also refilled your Blu carts..

These filler cartomizers are usually only good for a couple of refills. If the liquid ever runs too low and you continue vaping, it starts to burn the polyfill. When that happens, it's time to replace the cart.

That really happens with any atty/carto. I bet I could take care of a Blu carto and nurture it like I do all my other stuff and have it perform almost equally as well, if not as. Never tried Blu, but tech is tech, I'm sure they get their stuff the same place we do, China :toast:

I'm using an atty w/ the carts with the poly fill. I basicly want to find a way to enjoy my ecig for a couple hours without having to add more drops every 15-30 min.

Then I stick with my aforementioned post SR Boge cartos from VaporBeast! Get a 5 pack, shipping is free no reason to buy in bulk, try em out, they rock rock rock! Get a drip tip while you order too, This one, the Ming they kick but and you wont regret it.
Seriously using an atty/cart combo is 3-4 years old, it was the way we started vaping, horrible compared to what we do with dripping, cartos, tanks now. Hope you take my advice, Best of luck!

Remove Some of the batting (cotton looking stuff) from inside the cartridge. Do it vertically. The batting should be equal from top of cartridge to bottom, it just needs to be lightened up a bit so its not so dense. The density will directly effect how fast it will wick.

I used 510 for some good time, in each of the variants, my advice, and likely to be what you end up doing (i guess) is: get a drip tip and a nice dropper bottle, the nicer it looks the better it works for dripping. If you don't have a drip tip, and while you get one, you can remove the filler from a cart and use the cart as a cap only, it'll work fine, you'll just have to remove it every few puffts.

2-3 drops seems right for regular 510 attys, if you can get a LR 510-T atty it'll be the best for this at least in my experience.

I remember being really happy at the convenience of using 510 with PCC and drip tip, and having found locally glass dropper bottles that fit the 510 PCC cart slots O.O they were like 1.5ml or so but quite convenient.

I'm sort of surprised they are still selling those things. When I first got on here a little more than a year ago, they were pretty much on their way out. I haven't seen a post about modding the carts with blue foam or PTB in a long time. As others have said go to cartomizers. Everyone else has. :)

Try getting some blue foam. Even better one of the Aussie stores has black foam which works even better Black foam mod ECIGS WAREHOUSE AUSTRALIA ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE With the right size foam square cut (about 12mmx5x5) you just put 12 drops in your 510 cartridge, the foam goes in the top to stop the liquid spilling out (but enables it to wick). The vaping is consistent throughout the whole cart as it is holding free liquid and its easy to refill (just use some tweezers or a pin to remove the foam, then drip in). The cart generally lasts about as long as the battery does before needing filling again. You get generous vapour and flavour (much better than using the white mesh stuff).

That being said, I have just discovered the Vision which attaches to an Ego. Solves all the problems (no juice in mouth, consistent, great vapour, easy to fill and clear so can see how much juice left). Highly recommend them. Vision eGo Stardust Clearomizer
