About to get into RBAs and mech mods with a Caravela clone. Just wanted to make sure that an AW IMR 18650 High-Drain is the correct battery to use for a mech mod? I get pretty confused with the whole high drain, not high drain, protected, unprotected stuff.

If it matters, was thinking either a Kraken Genesis style rba or a Trident. Maybe a kayfun 3.1.

Cheers!

It depends which AW IMR 18650 you are getting. The 2000 mah battery is only 10 amps. The 1500 mah battery though is 24 amps. They are both fine in a mech mod, the 1500 mah battery is much better for sub ohming though.

but with just 1500mah capacity, I doubt it will last long enough. try using the sony vtc4 or vtc5.

you make a valid point.
but if the OP is anything like me, having just 1 mech wont be sufficient for the collection. after getting a mech, wanting more mechs and batteries just kinda happens. soon enough the OP might have 3 or 4 or more mechs that he rotates throughout the day. i know i do. and 1600mAh provides plenty of run time as in actuality, ive got 1600mAh x 4 or more at any given time. my batteries last for days because of this. BUT, getting back to the point, yes, having 1 mech, youd most likely want at least 2000mah.
