Quick question about nicotine base

Pretty straightforward, I watched a video online about mixing your own liquids, and I understand how, but I was confused on one thing. On ecigexpress.com you can buy a 60mg 30ml bottle of unflavored nicotine base for like $9. When you choose it, it asks you if you wan pg, vg, or a 50/50 mix. My question with that is, if the unflavored nicotine base is meant to be diluted with pg or vg, why is it already mixed with pg/vg? Wouldn't that be like diluting it twice?

Yes, it is like diluting it twice. It's been diluted down to 60mg with PG/VG ( based on what you choose when you buy ) from whatever the vendor started with to make it safe for you to handle. You buy the base mixed at 6% nicotine (60mg/ml) in PG or VG and then dilute it down with PG/VG to the PG/VG ratio and nic level of your choice. For example, I vape 100% PG. It's simple for me. I get a 10% (100mg/ml) base in all PG, then dilute it down to 25mg with more PG ( i.e. 7.5ml of my base goes into what will be a finished product measuring 30ml ).If you want 50/50, then you would have to use both PG and VG to dilute it down. Read the DIY forum and all the stickies to get a better handle on it all. The ratio you choose for your base will depend on what you want your final ratio to be or what you feel is easier to mix with - 100% PG base will be thinner, 100% VG will be thicker. Nic base always has a carrier liquid - either PG or VG. You cannot buy stronger than 10% nic. It's too dangerous.

P.S. Inuyasha is awesome : )

P.P.S - I keep reading what I typed here and it sounds confusing, so I apologize if I'm not being very clear.

Thanks for the reply, I was just making sure I wasn't understanding it wrong because I didn't want to dilute it so much there's virtually no nicotine.

there are much better places to get your unflavored nic from like myfreedomsmokes or wizardlabs both are very well known and have reliable service and some great bases. i prefer ordering from myfreedomsmokes myself i like that the base comes in amber glass bottles so you can put them straight into storage unlike wizarlabs where you have to buy bottles separately and expose the nic to air again before storage. but ether store has some great liquids and has great feedback and is reliable, personally i wont order nic bases from somewhere i dont fully trust, this is a poison we are ordering and some places just dont have any quality control.

Good but very long thread. Ecigexpress is one of the vendors mentioned. There is a chart on one of the pages that gives the OP's impressions of the various bases. I only know of one problem with ecigexpress, and that's related to how it's been packaged for shipping in a couple of cases. I haven't personally ordered from them.

Yes, InuYasha is pretty ballin :D and yea I get what your saying, I was just checking. I've already ordered the base from ecig express so hopefully they are a reputable site, it at least looks like it.

We generally always buy a higher mg and dilute down to whatever PG/ VG ratio and mg we need. Unless you're sensitive to PG best to get the flavorless PG version. Easier to pour/ use and can be frozen safely to keep it fresh- really doesn't freeze but turns into a gel. PG and VG both USP/ Food Grade can be bought inexpensively at any Pharmacy.

This is how I understand it and how I think makes it easier to think of.

Youve got a bottle of 100mg nicotine, which is delivered in a PG/VG or 50/50 solution. Regardless of the delivery system, you need to dilute it to get it down to your target (safe) nictone level.

To use easy numbers lets say you want to make a 10ml juice. 1ml of nicotine solution will be 100mg of nicotine. Add 9ml of PG/VG and that will give you 100mg/10 or 10mg nicotine per ml of juice. 2ml nicotine solution + 8ml PG/VG will give you 20mgnic per ml of juice and so on.

Hopefully that simplifies it somewhat and I didnt just make it worse. Also I hope I am right and not misleading you cause I am a noob after all myself.
