Thinking of getting a base kit.
There's too many thread to wade through for my simple questions....Thanks in advance for answers!

1. How finicky is it? Will it need repairing, fidgeting with, that sort of thing? I'm clumsy & drop my 901 ALL the time, VERY mechanically declined

2. Takes 2 batteries, correct? Does the heaviness affect anyone's useage?

3. Weight, length, etc....Where can I view a photo of Prodigy for comparison against something I recognize (such as an ink pen, cigarette, etc) Looks HUGE on website & I have teeny hands :D

4. Should I just wait for Prodigy II? Any major differences?
(i don't have any $ right now anyway!!)

5. I have an adapter for 510 atomizer for a GG Nano...could I use this with modification or must I aboslutely purchase an adapter from Puresmoker?
(ah, just tring to save a buck if I decide to get one)

6, How's the button? Overly sensitive? Too hard to push down? Could one simply dump in a purse & not worry about it firing up?

The unit is not finicky at all. I have never had an issue with mine.
The 2 batteries are pretty small...so it does not add much weight to the unit. Although the unit itself is pretty solid therefore already has some weight to it without the batteries.
The unit is fairly large...but not too large to handle. I would not even know what to compare it to.
I do not know what the V2 will offer, so I do not know if you should wait. I hear it will be smaller and less voltage. VOLTAGE IS EVERYTHING!!!
And I do not know the answer to the last 2 questions.

A: No doubt, every ecig can be finicky ... The Prodigy was a bit finicky at first but we are slowly trying to eliminate all the finicky factors (comes down to contact post height, allowing spring to settle, a week of use with aluminum/raw threads to start screwing on/off like butter, etc...)

2. Takes 2 batteries, correct? Does the heaviness affect anyone's useage?
A: Yes, (2) RCR123's -- More Recently tested with CR2's I believe and all you need to do is lengthen the spring to make it work. Its really not too heavy IMO :) Although, its been months since I used a standard PV, so take that with a grain of salt.

3. Weight, length, etc....Where can I view a photo of Prodigy for comparison against something I recognize (such as an ink pen, cigarette, etc) Looks HUGE on website & I have teeny hands :D
A: I believe FranklySpeaking took a photo a while back with different ecigs :)

4. Should I just wait for Prodigy II? Any major differences?
(i don't have any $ right now anyway!!)
A: The Prodigy II is actually the Protege. Will be much smaller, and pump out 3.7v instead of the 5v - 6v+ range the Prodigy does.

5. I have an adapter for 510 atomizer for a GG Nano...could I use this with modification or must I aboslutely purchase an adapter from Puresmoker?
(ah, just tring to save a buck if I decide to get one)
A: Not entirely sure as I haven't seen or tested one in person.

6, How's the button? Overly sensitive? Too hard to push down? Could one simply dump in a purse & not worry about it firing up?
A: Um ... Not even sure. There is quite a lengthy *throw* to it ...

Answers in red ... not the most helpful, but I tried :)

1) Like any new device, there will be a certain amount of a learning curve, but from what I've seen the PD is a very robust device, that should stand up to all sorts of shenanigans.

2) Depends on your configuration. Steve offers a 5V resistor version which uses RCR123 batteries and a 3.7~+6V resistorless version which can take either a 18650(suggested) or 2 RCR123/16340s (not recommended). Although momof3 has been using her 5V resistored PD with a 18650 with success. Steve's also selling the switch assembly so you can order this with your PD if you choose.

3) Try looking at this thread for a visual reference. Some users have been reporting that its to scale, while for others its been a little off. In anycase it should give you a ballpark figure:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/27487-ladies-prodigy.html

4) There is no PDII in the works that we know of (although Steve's a sneaky, sneaky guy :)). But there is going to be a smaller version of the PD called the Protege. See these threads for more details:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/26578-ps-protege-sneak-peek.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...d-you-recommend-first-pv-prodigy-protege.html

5) how does the adapter work? Does it screw directly onto the body? If so the the answer is probably no. If it uses an existing thread (901/801 ->510) then it will probably work)

It's a simple little brass screw with a 901 threading on one side and a 510 threading on the other side. Coincidentally, I ordered my 510 attys from Puresmoker to test it out (haven't had time though--been using 901 attys still)

Hi Gem...
I have both the GG and the Prodigy. The quick answer to question 5 is that if you order the Prodigy set up for the 901 atty, then Yes, the GG adapter will work with the Prodigy. Any other configuration...the answer is No.
That having been said, if you are planning to go strictly to the 510 style attys, why would you order your new Prodigy to fit your old style 901's?
Just order it with the 510 fitting to begin with, and don't worry about any adapters.

I have seen pictures of the GG adapters, and they are *not* compatible with the Prodigy body.

Hmm, with 2 batteries, I think it might be too heavy for me. Part of what I don't like about GG Nano is the weight. 2 batteries would be even heavier.

I'm thinking of diving into my husband's garage and tinkering with something that may suit me better....lightweight, small and delivers a punch. I may be waiting a while for someone to develop MY perfect e-cig :D

I'll be sure to message from the burn unit HA HA :D

I've only just begun playing with 510 attys; thought if I got Prodigy I might do an 801 fitting to test 'em all out. Not sure which atty is favorite yet. I may get a Prodigy down the road...possibly after I've gotten a job that doesn't require me to constantly run around the building with busy hands (yeah right!)

I appreciate everyone's answers! Maybe I'll ask Santa Clause to bring me a Prodigy this Christmas.

Guys
i'm confused about these resistors.

What do i have to order so as to have the strongest battery power on the prodigy?

If i buy the pen style kit at $139 doe that already come with the max battery power?

thanks

I believe the answer is yes.

All Prodigys ordered without any modifications to it come with the resistor switch that will get you around 5v vapage.

Also it comes with the RCR123a which are the recommended batteries for it.

I just tried the GG 510 and 801 adapters on the Prodigy 901 adapter and they work aok.

Next question....GG users, do you suppose I could use the adapters sold by Puresmoker for use with my Nano?
I just got a 510 dapter from Tim & the pin is not lined up correctly, not working at all. (yes, I emailed Tim a min ago) Supposing Prodigy adapters would work, shipping would be loads cheaper & way faster. Easier to deal with if I had any probs

Side note...I was also thinking it may be possible to make my own adapter if I could purchase the male/female ends. Been browsing the Modders Forum; it may ultimately lead me to my own demise ha ha

whatagem ... The Prodigy adapters will NOT work on the GG. The Prodigy adapter is the entire top aluminum assembly with the brass in the middle. The GG adapters are simply brass extenders.

No Gem - not compatible. The Prodigy adapter is the whole head of the unit.

I have the GG and the Prodigy and I love them both.

Your best bet is simply to buy the Prodigy with the adapters you need and not fuss with it.

1. How finicky is it? Will it need repairing, fidgeting with, that sort of thing? I'm clumsy & drop my 901 ALL the time, VERY mechanically declined

A leetle. I find I have to adjust how tightly my atomizer is screwed on, but I've dropped it several times, because I'm an idiot like that, and that's the only adjustment I've ever had to make.

Some people report issues with the battery alignment, but I've never had that issue.

2. Takes 2 batteries, correct? Does the heaviness affect anyone's useage?

It doesn't seem inordinately heavy to me.

3. Weight, length, etc....Where can I view a photo of Prodigy for comparison against something I recognize (such as an ink pen, cigarette, etc) Looks HUGE on website & I have teeny hands

I also have teeny hands. It is a bit on the larger side, I'm not going to lie. It doesn't bother me, personally.

4. Should I just wait for Prodigy II? Any major differences?
(i don't have any $ right now anyway!!)

I don't think so, no. There's a huge voltage difference. But that's up to you! The GG runs at 6, no? I don't know that you'd be happy with the Protege, then.

5. I have an adapter for 510 atomizer for a GG Nano...could I use this with modification or must I aboslutely purchase an adapter from Puresmoker?

Has been answered by people who know more about the GG than I.

6, How's the button? Overly sensitive? Too hard to push down? Could one simply dump in a purse & not worry about it firing up?

The button is perfect. I mean absolutely perfect. It is easy to push, but you could probably throw it in a purse. I've done it! However, I do usually unscrew it for space reasons.
