Hey everyone, sorry if I'm breaking protocol here, but I saw "New Members'" and I just jumped on.

Well, lets see here. I'm the new guy I guess. I was referred to by my friend Zach, who's username on here escapes me right now. Luckily for me he lent me his 510 for the week until I get my own model.

I've been vaping for about a week or so now and since then I've only had about 5 analog cigs! I'm enjoying it a lot although I tend to get a bit of irritation in my throat when I do it.

As for buying my first e-cig does anyone have any suggestions as to what model I should get? I'm looking to spend about 60-70 for a starter kit and I'd like to get some opinions on it all.

What cigarettes do you smoke?
How often do you smoke?
Do you care if it looks more or less like a cigarette?
Do you mind futzing with it frequently to make it work better?
Do you think you want to see and feel a lot of vapor?
Do you think you need a lot of throat hit?
Would you mind pushing a little button to turn the battery on?
Does the size of it matter?
Are you going to be using it mostly at home? On the road? Inside? Outside?

How do you like the 510?

I usually smoke about half a pack to a whole pack a day.
I do kinda care about design... The cig shaped ones are easier to conceal for clandestine vaping. Still not quite used to the whole "smoking anywhere" concept.
I don't mind messing with it, modding it, or generally improving the vape itself.
Yes I do like to see a lot of vapor
Nah I don't really need a big throat hit.
I haven't been able to try an auto yet, I've only used the 510 manual button, but I do like it.
Size kinda matters, I'm not a big fan of those clunky beasts.
I'll probably be using it mostly at my apartment, occasionally outside.

Hope that helps :D

The Janty Stick rocks. Loads of vapor, built in usb pass through, cheap batteries that last a long time, fits in the palm of your hand, looks way cool.
If you just want something a little different it's got good features for a fair price.
Thankfully, Zestok90 (Zach) has been guiding me through the world of e-cigs so far. I've used both his Janty Stick and I'm borrowing his 510.
My reaction to the Janty stick is that it has epic amounts of flavor and pretty good vape. The 510 is just a tried and true model to me. Something we've all used and have been happy with etc.

So I think you answered your own question, go with the 510, from what I've read on this site everyone loves them.
While it does work very well, I wonder how much of that is just loving the manual battery.
I'm looking forward to seeing comparisons of the 510 with the new 901 with manual battery.

Ah but I cant help but wonder about other models... Hence why I signed up for the forum

Ya I know how you feel. I've only been using an e-cig for about 2.5 weeks and I already have another Stick on the way. I also have a strang desire to get an e-pipe. I think if you like gadgets at all your likely to end up trying more than one devise. Which is why I suggested going with the one you already know and like. the sooner your off the death sticks the better.

I'm currently looking for one for my 18 yr old son that he won't bust in a week. somthing they'd give to marines or navy seals should do.

Well, I'm really diggin' the 510. Nice vape, consistent hits, reliable battery... But as we all know, variety is the spice of life, and mostly everyone in town with an e-cig has a 510. It kinda prompts me to get something else :p

Know what you mean. I picked up a janty stick in my last order with some juice. I have a BlackSuper auto I still use on occasion, but the 510 still rules in this household.
