Where were you a few hours ago! I just ordered a 40 ft roll haha. Seriously though, thanks for the offer.

Anyways as far as rayon vs ... cotton, taste is always subjective, for instance some people like to taste cotton and others like to taste their juice.:D
Yeh, I have used every kind of cotton ever made: I began with organic cheesecloth, cotton yarn, cotton thread, cotton balls, Koh Gen Do pads, Shiseido pads, Puff pads...... Then I found rayon. There's no taste to it (to me) at all. It seems to last a lot longer for me than cotton wicks, too. Love the stuff.

Well! I finally got around to burning some this morning.
Holy CRAP it burns like wildfire, "I'll just light the tip on fire" I say, as the entire piece is engulfed in fire instantly between my fingers!
All's good though =P it went on the stainless steel sink and no burns.
It did indeed smell like burning a paper product(Not..that..I do that, -cough cough- That was for campfire kindling purposes....mostly)

I did try some as a wick, pretty easy to work with but I got a migraine over a few hours, not sure if it was related or not, a rewick with japanese cotton didn't help out with that, so here's to hoping it was just me.
My Lemo 2 is still wicked with the Rayon and I'll hit on that some today while I'm at work to see if that was the culprit or not.

Gotta love coil building/wicking though! No nasty hits on it, but I'm fighting tooth and nail with my Mutation X V3 in vain to try to get a resemblance of flavor instead of next to nothing, cotton or rayon.
Growing to have an unyielding hatred of Nickel wire though.

EDIT: Not that I didn't expect this to be Rayon or safe, I didn't think someone would send me something necessarily unsafe, but I wanted to be 100%.
Basically, an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure.

Everything in the juice is intensified by 1/3 with rayon. Whatever flavorings, nicotine, pg, contaminates of flavorings ect. Will be about 1/3 more intense.

Most the time the nic hit gets people. Its strong. 1/3 stronger so that 12mg hits like 18+ now. Nic OD symptoms are wide and varied. Head aches, chest pains, ect.

A spoon of sugar is a pound of cure for nic OD.

Initial feelings when starting to use rayon is like you just finished a cloud competition because its so intense. A reduction of nicotine, pg, or flavoring is in order for most people.

Just check your density throughout the first day or anytime you have a problem. You don't want it to be loose in the coil or you'll get a coil dry hit. Which if you ever dry burned a coil, is a pretty burnt nasty taste. But you'll see the rayon it still fine..

With a good density wick that you ran dry the coil will get burnt juice on it, the wick is fine... If it wasnt dry burned too bad it will clear in a few hits.. If really burnt tasting. You can salvage the coil by soaking it with juice and lightly wiping over the coil with a folded paper towel to suck up the burnt juice. Redrip and your off to the races.

Also what rayon do you use?

I use many different kinds. Pharmaceutical, medical, and cosmetic.

Bottle rayon(the original and first), KU rayon, cellucotton 100%rayon, delascos- tidi -DM Balls.

Its a learning curve switching from cotton. So whenever you feel like and upgrade try it out. Don't mean to push you to try it.

I see your fairly new to the forum and nice. So hope I didn't offend.

But I did see phils video when it came out a while ago. As I consulted with him briefly before hand. He had just received the cellucotton a little less than a week before the video. So he didn't have much experience with it at that time.

Yep the smell reminds me of a camp fire, for some its happy feelings. Lol

You've got rayon my friend.. I told you it lights up fast. Lol

No contaminates or proteins to slow it down. A clean efficient burn, just like it wicks. ;)

Just on a whim, and because I had seen this thread, I decided to re wick one of my Atomics with rayon this morning. I hadn't used any rayon in probably a year. I'm a confirmed KGD user, normally. I've been vaping this thing all morning. I have to say, it's very good. Nice crisp flavor, right from the get go. Is it better than KGD? No, I can't say that it's better. But it is very good. It takes a little more fussing around, to get the right amount, compared to KGD. Wicking is quicker with the KGD. But vape quality wise, they're close. One thing's for sure. Both are superior to cotton balls.

Cool, Use it for about a week and then see how much gunk you have compared to cotton... It lasts 4-10 times longer before gunking starts to form.

As long as you do have enough density. It needs a Lot... Otherwise you'll start to lose contact at the top of the coil when the fibers mesh together. Loss of contact will overheat the coil and or juice, which causes gunk. And burnt taste.

Its opposite of cotton.. Cotton people usually use too much. With rayon people usually use too little.

Well, I don't think it was the Rayon that gave me the headache, I've been fine today so far, but I've noticed after using Rayon the past day or so my japanese cotton has a very weird taste to it..
Who knows, might've been too much nicotine, I use 3 and 6mg kills me, I haven't noticed any more nicotine feeling like I do if I try 6(Right before the coughing fit, followed by rolling over and dying =P)

I'll probably play with it a bit more and see; I really wish I could love my Lemo 2 though, sadly I don't think it'll happen(Leak leak leak leak leak, dry hit, leak, dry hit, leak leak leak)

I didn't find that to be true at all. The only real difference I found between rayon and Koh Gen Do is that rayon does last longer.

I switched to rayon from organic cotton and found that was a noticeable improvement. More flavor, much less funky start up taste, longer time between gunking up coils, just a better vape experience all around.

I've recently started using a couple of temperature sensing mods so I'm working with Ni and Ti and I bought some KGD specially for the Ni builds. Once I had KGD here I thought why not try it in all my devices and see what it's like before I start with the Ni builds. I did and was pleasantly surprised to find it performs pretty much the same as rayon, unlike the regular cotton I had been vaping before. Neither my cotton or rayon ever gets scorched during vaping, even when I'm set up for a hot vape.

So, I say try them both and see what you prefer. Nothing is good for everyone and nothing is bad for everyone unless the thing is really bad to start with.
