I got my KGD cotton at sephora.com. Just search their site for Koh Gen Do cotton. You will absolutely love it. I know I do.

I've never boiled any cotton ever. I stay away from anything that requires boiling or treatment.

I also purchased some raw organic cotton that I believe I should boil. Do you have an opinion on this?
No bro, sorry. I've only used CVS sterile rolled and now the KGD. Give it a shot and see his you like it. If you taste cotton your wick is too thick
Ok.....ill tell you.....KGD, very, very, clean flavor. Nice! Both the raw organic, and KGD, IMO, seem a bit more dense than the cvs organic. Going to have to pick some more up. I appreciate your insight.
Ok, so I have another question for you guru's........as I have posted previously, I read where many people are "laying pillowy clouds of cotton that cover the entire deck" and I have read that this is to allow you to vape without having to drip as often and to prevent leaks (which if leaks were a person's primary concern, then why a dripper?). I found that covering the entire deck with cotton did indeed prevent leaks, but I still have to drip almost as often. I also found that I have to drip while the "pillowy clouds" further from the coil are still completely saturated (seems wasteful. I know, I'm cheap). Other than leak prevention, and liquid wastefulness, what are the benefits of doing this? I have also seen where people do a long length of cotton wick that wraps around the top and bottom of the coils, completely obscuring them from view. Is there any benefit to this?

if your dripping down onto your wick you can try a vertical coil with mostly all the cotton above the coil
when i was dripping i slowly got to a stage of having barely any cotton cloud on the deck for the reason you mentioned, i found that just having a few strands running from the none coil side to feed the coil better then lots, once i had dripped i couldnt even see the cotton, and then i moved onto just setting up the coil/s where i wanted them and only having enough wick to just barely touch the deck and that was it
you should get better flavour anyway with less cotton, thats why i went to a bottom feeder, i was dripping juice in my sleep, what a nightmare!
people that cover the coils dont normally have internal wick

The ones I'm speaking of run the wick through the coil then double it over the top of the coil and tuck it under the coil. A figure eight kind of thing. They claim that more wick in contact with the coil the better, but I would think it would restrict airflow over and under the coil.
Just my thoughts on it. I'm definitely no expert.

haha it will prob give you a big fat wet vape, you need airflow... if you fire your coil and take note of the amount of vapour its producing now do it again but blow at the coil

I was wondering how long you guys go between recoiling. i have been using the same coil for a while just changing out the cotton, but I wasn't sure if the coil will go bad of short out eventually?
2 days for me.. i cant keep my hands still... i need to be doing something, but you can go weeks and months as long as it lasts, thicker gauge is likely to last longer

A coil of 30g or 28g will last months by simply dry burning it and rewicking. Larger gauges tend to last longer.
Like eel, I constantly recoil, thinking I can always do better, lol.
Almost all of my builds have been more than adequate, but it quickly becomes an obsession. I think I spend more on wire than liquid, .
If you build for use on a mechanical, make sure you do your research, use proper batteries, and be safe above all.
Ask questions. There are a lot of great, helpful, and knowledgable people here that are more than willing to help. I definitely couldn't have done half of the things I have without the help of good people like Patkin, State 'O Flux, Slippy_Eel, super_x_drifter, and Kemosabe, just to name a few. There have been a lot of other very helpful members, those are just the ones that immediately come to mind.

Storing more juice in the wick or deck of an atty than you can vape in a couple of puffs sounds good in theory but suffers in application.
As you vape, the atty heats up and will precook the juice that's in excess wick and pooling on the deck, changing the flavor profile of the juice. The more time you vape between rewetting the wick, the more this effect intensifies.
There's other things I'd rather do than go to the store every few days for fresh milk, I could fill my cart and not go for months. no one would stop me. Yes it was convenient but would I want that convenience?
Rewetting / dripping is your friend. Be one with it. Embrace the fact that you have built a heater so efficient that you must rewet / drip every hit or two, for if your dripping less than that, your vaping spoiled milk.
That's what makes bottom fed mods so appealing to all but either the uneducated or supercool. I'm neither and all I vape are bottom fed mods

yea the prob I have with too much juice is leaking out the air holes. I have not noticed the change in flavor too much except when I don't change my wick as often as they need to be. I know that the bottom feed dripper(Reo) is the holygrale of dripping but I just haven't been able to bring myself to spend the dough rae me. Those woodies tho 
. I have spent hours trying to design a diy bottom feeder but I lack the electrical knowledge to choose the proper wiring for low ohm/high current needs.
I also like having bunches of cheap drippers so i can just switch flavors by grabbing another atty and throw it on. just got this brass gp clone today $15... 1 reo = 15 gp clones :/

Thanks to JBal4 for showing me this thread. I've been using an Igow for a few months and love the wet dence vape. My Ehpro kfl+ came is last week and I cant get it to taste as good as the igo. Is this typicle? Here are my coils in each.
