hey guys. So due to the better flavor and cost savings im considering a rebuildable versus a clearomizer. I have only vaped local shop made juices to this point but am looking at a subscription to Craft Vapery and I know these are MUCH more premium liquids compared to my local shop. A few thoughts first.

1. I am all thumbs. I DO NOT want to end up blowing myself up from a bad build. how easy is it to do this? I know you can short it and you can overload it with not enough or too much resistance. Is this the ohm rating in it? Mind you, I am running an Eleaf Istick 20 watt. I have NO interest in sub ohming and I am not a cloud chaser. All I want is better flavor and cost savings from the rebuilding so I will not be attempting something with a crazy number of coils in it. If it shorts my istick would just not let it fire, correct? What if the resistance load is at a dangerous level?

2. I am also leary on going this route as I have read conflicted reviews whereas a lot of people seem to notice no difference between dripping and clearomizers in taste. I have only used the PT2 (Hated it) and the Nautilus (Loved it) and I don't want to spend the money on an RDA just to have it make no difference. Are there any tank systems that would achieve the same effect as dripping?

As long as you are careful, use an ohm's law calculator to know what to wrap, and check everything very carefully with a meter before firing, it's really not all that hard to get into rebuilding. Watch a ton of videos before you try it.

Your mod is regulated and should not fire if the ohms are too low or you have a short. I personally wouldn't start out building with much lower than about 1.5 ohms until you're comfortable with it. I think if you're just interested in trying dripping and/or rebuilding out, you could buy a cheap dripper (I always suggest an Igo-L) which has a pretty big build area and is very simple, or one of the multitude of Kayfun-style tanks. Compared to clearomizers, I think you'll be surprised at the difference.

Basically I can't to build my coil, then test the coil itself for the right ohm rating and then attach it and retest it for the right ohm rating and test it for a short correct?

I have also been reading a lot of people claim its a lot of trial and error to get the right setup for taste. A lot wick taste in the vapor, muted flavor, flavor seems off etc etc. the replys to them are just to keep at it and try new things. It's trial and error. To be perfectly honest, I don't have a desire for trial and error. I'm not interested enough to go beyond learning how to make a well wrapped coil.

You can simply wrap a single or dual Micro coil in your RDA, Single for higher ohm, duals cut it in half. Since you will be running on an Istick something like a Magma RDA with a single Micro coil, 28 or 30 GA AWG Kanthal will give you a good resistance without having to crank the wattage too high. You will still need to check on an ohm reader for shorts. Watch a couple vids on whatever atty you decide on for tips on building, it is really not too hard, my first build was not pretty but it worked just fine. Different builds can offer more flavor but require more trial and error although many people stick with just standard micro coils.
