I tend to build mine close to the airholes, bypassing that centering-ridge at the bottom of the well. It holes to get them centered, yes, but for me it places the coils a little too close to the positive post. What was your final resistance of the build?

My build came out to 0.18 ohms. Surprisingly it doesn't get too hot with how short it is. I'm thinking for my next build dropping a wrap on each coil to bring it down to about 0.14-0.15 ish. Definitely gonna stick with quads though because that's really why I bought it; to have a quad vertical capable atty that vapes similar to an origen.

So you can place the coils further out than the inner edge of the deck without shorting? I didn't really look very close at the top cap to see how much room I had.

aesthetically as well for me its the weakest part of the ax1 rda, it doesnt look like "integrated" and just been put there by force just because that area needs insulators...

Thanks for this. I wasn't sure if it was just that way in pics or non-production runs. It's too bad because it really does look like an afterthought and not, as you said, integrated. It's still sweet, but that one part looks half-assed.

Sure, but of course it will depend on your ID of the coils. I am bad with keeping up with all my numbers, so I can't really say what ID I use, but mine isn't so wide that I don't have a little room for maneuvering. I've found that if the coils are too wide with too few wraps, I don't get enough surface area and the flavor suffers a bit. I'll check on my ID later--well, maybe not. Don't want to re-wick mine as it's going pretty good right now.

magma v2 by paradigm, coming in at around november....
I don't understand why they don't do the posts like the velocity. Granted two post is still really easy to build on but just doing a single post hole adds unneeded hassle.

The last couple things I've bought minus my royal hunter mini

How do you like the mini?
My Royal Hunter went wonky somehow. The cap won't go in when lined up for dual coils and when I put it on for a single air flow it won't turn and open all the holes. I used to be able to spin it around then, all of a sudden it gets hung. I've recoiled and wicked. I've checked what I could check and don't see anything bent or blocking it going down.

Soooo, I was thinking about getting a mini as a replacement.

thanks

I'd say go for it, if you liked the regular one then you'll definitely like the mini. Yes it's a basic small four post rda but its really got no bad traits. No spit back, its not cramped to build on, and it holds a decent amount of juice. The only thing I could comment on is I wish I could use my own drip tips, but mystic Atmos made a cap for it so it's doable now. I love mine.

Thanks man! I guess my budget stretching is postponed for a bit what with the mini and the comp cap for the Vector and oh, I want a bottom fed pin for the Origen and...rats!
I wasn't gonna get it myself but I love small attys and it was on the cheaper side so I figured what the hell. But lately I've had a vape itch I can't scratch cause there's nothing out I really really want. Kinda sucks lol but its given me time to try out different juices and such.

That's what I"m doing. I finally got all my supplies for DIY, some NET extract from a generous member who was cleaning out his surplus and I've got two pipe tobaccos soaking in PG. Another branch of the road has opened up.
My hardware interest really died down once I got into DIY. Its so much more fun to research than just "oh, another 3 post atty with blah blah blah airflow majiggers". I've recently taken it from a "what flavors go good together" to a "what is the molecular structure doing" type of thought process. After watching the 1.5hr pbusardo video of the FlavourArt facility, I gained a newfound respect for flavor companies and the search for the perfect structures hehe.

It really makes me wish I was a machinist.....oh god do I wish I was. Not to have a company but it would be amazingly satisfying to make a mech mod and an rda to my own specs and likings, that would be awesome. But will never happen lol.

Never say never. With enough drive and spare time, you can do anything. Hell, I said I'd likely never have a kid. And here I am with a 3.5 year old that I have to go get antibiotics for because she somehow got pinkeye in both eyes. :sigh:

Also, not really RDA related, but I saw this drip tip a few days ago and really liked the look of it on an Aeolus v2 someone posted a picture for. I started reading and there is a HUGE hype for this maker's drip tips. Made by Loki Labs, the same guy who released the Origen, this is the Loki Labs Router Drip Tip. I got mine in black cerekote and cannot wait to get it in. The specs on it alone made me drool, as it was almost exactly what I've been hunting for months.

304 Stainless steel
5.5mm bore at base and tapers out to 7.5mm
16mm diameter
Makes for easy dripping and no internal shelf that catches liquid.

I just ordered the mgnt rda from shado vapor. Kinda looks like a vector or aeolus takeoff with a new spin. 60$ not bad looks interesting and heard good things from a shop that went to ecc. (There is a preorder at kidney puncher). Let me know what your thoughts are and I'll post how it is when it's in (a week and a few days I suppose)

I picked one up last week to carry at work because I got tired of side airflow atties getting messy in my pockets.

Thus far, I don't really have any complaints other than the orings are a bit on the weak side. The flavor is good, it's easy to build and the draw can be adjusted from pretty tight to wide open.

I had to play with my build and airflow a bit to dial in the vape but it's pretty nice.... especially for the price point.

I've been using my Aeolus v2 and vector exclusively for months. The top airflow was really intriguing but I never got around to looking at reviews.

The only thing that really makes it a game changer in the top airflow arena is the price.

TBH, I was glad I held back on an Aeolus v2 once the Sapor came about. For 12 bones, I'll probably pick up another just to keep in case something goes ridiculous with mine. I paid right at $25 and it hits better than some of my high end atties. You'll likely not regret the purchase for, if nothing else, serving as a backup.

So for the people that are currently using them; how are you like the Vortice 2's? Mine should be here tomorrow and pretty excited to mess around with it...

Easy to build on?

Quality of vape?

Beginner friendly? (been using RTA's for years and never saw the need for an RDA until recently)

How's it compare to RDA's in it's price range and what would you recommend over it?

While a loaded question, what is generally considered the top 2/3 RDA's out there right now?
