Bought my first rda yesterday. Just a hellboy clone. 22awg kanthal 3mm Id. And this is the first coil I've ever built. Did I do okay? Should I go to 24 or 26g? What are the advantages of thinner wire.

No one liked my post two days ago about the Jaden atty. :(

So for the people that are currently using them; how are you like the Vortice 2's? Mine should be here tomorrow and pretty excited to mess around with it...

Easy to build on?

Quality of vape?

Beginner friendly? (been using RTA's for years and never saw the need for an rda until recently)

How's it compare to rda's in it's price range and what would you recommend over it?

While a loaded question, what is generally considered the top 2/3 RDA's out there right now?

And the industry continues to do this! A v2 already? I don't intend to sound like I am asking for a handout, but I do think that if an atty warrants a revision this quickly, the original customers should be given some type of preference on the immediately released version 2. I am a bit shocked at Vaporshark for this. That's about $160 in a few months to shell out to them just to get an RDA right? No shame!

*We listened to our customers and made it right this time. Trust us, just buy it again and you'll like it better than the first $80 you spent a couple months ago!*

Looks vapetastic to me!! The only advice I have is make sure both ends of your wick have approximately the same amount of space as they extend down to the well. This allows for more effective wicking. Your wicking looks just about right! If it vapes great, enjoy dat shizzz bro!!

I did read your posts from a while back and noticed you said some good things about it. It looks like the biggest change was filing down the blades. But yes, I too was confused cause while this RDA just popped up on my radar version one looks like it released in AUG from what I can gather but wasn't sure. From what you read does it sound like the V2 changes are a big deal?

I do have my issues with it, but I tend to have issues with everything (I did slice up my fingers something terrible with those blades). I do like the atty in spite of those issues, but if I were offered a chance at having those issues corrected--being that it is still so new--I would gladly pay a little bit extra to not have those issues. But not the same dang-on price as the original! I don't really know if the new version will be all that much of a change, but it does still sorta feel like a slight.

Not too shabby for a first build. Try to keep your coils parallel to one another and rather than running your negative leads straight to the negative posts, bend them a bit and it will allow you a lot more room to tuck the wick on that side of the coil so the wick doesn't get restricted on one side. All in all, very nice first attempt.

I'll have to try that.. seems hard to do parallel though

I think he meant more centered. Try to keep the legs the same length on both coils and centered around the same spot on the center post. With 22 ga it might be a little tough. I always tighten the center post on both coils first then bend them in with a screwdriver to around the same point and tighten the negative leads.

Edit:
Similar to this. This was 24ga or 22ga. Old bold but the only pic I have that can describe it on my phone.

Much. Wick up and enjoy.

Edit: Is it just viewing the pic on my phone or are you missing a wrap on the bottom coil?
