Also, I have a weird knack for getting the ONE problem atty out of a bunch.

I thought it was just me :)

The scratches don't affect the vape but plays havoc with my OCD.

Thanks for this @Mr.Mann I still had to check out a video because that barrel was not turning at all. But...

@Sed8op8 I ended up having to slide a 1/16" drill bit through the holes and leverage the slots to align with the tabs. Once that happened the barrel popped right off. Maybe putting a little juice on the O-rings will lube it up a bit.

Pics of the tabs are below:

This looks sweet I just got my priority shipping confirmation from viper ! This is going to be my first hobo he he however I'm not a super huge fan of two post decks with single holes

Again I just really thank you guys for being so welcoming here and being so helpful <3 means a lot everyone !!!

Luckily my petri came in pretty stellar condition. Does anyone else get a whistle from there's until it gets moist..?

That is really incredible the PO smashed the damn box hard enough to crush the glass. That box is made with stiff cardboard...unbelievable
The Petri box was intact but it was packaged just in a USPS mailing envelope. I suspect that's the culprit. The envelope got jostled around and it didn't have enough padding to absorb the shock. Kind of irritating, honestly. The seller should've packaged it better IMO.

yes, my petri whistles only when I have too much cotton in the juice well and just dripped. Today I built it such that the cotton is just long enough to touch the bottom of the well and it is very quite.

really like the flavor from this atty.
Mine puts out really good flavor also however I am a little nervous with the thumb screws I tried tightening down with a screw driver and it started to slip a bit and they are so pretty i really dont want to strip them so I have been resorting to using the teeth on needle nose pliers to tighten them down and its a pain in the ....

The deck on it really is gorgeous even if this one is made in China they still did a great job

I would have been kind of bent quite honestly ! I mean it isn't the cheapest RDA 8/

Agreed on your Petri comments. Really good flavor, the amount of airflow is spot on and it seems really well machined. I, too, am using needle nose pliers to completely tighten the screws after I initially finger tighten them to get the coils in place.

I'm definitely irritated by the packing but it is what it is. The atty doesn't appear to be scratched so there's that at least. The smaller glass tube for the drip tip did not shatter for some reason.

I just saw an email someone posted they received from geekvape explaining they will be releasing a 24mm tsunami around April 15th. I guess well at least from watching Matt's review (suck my mod) the 22mm has some flaws mainly not enough room for proper wicking and also a raised post in the center of the deck that interferes with dripping and juice traveling to the wicks. If it wasnt so cheap i would just cancel my 22 and get the 24 but it was only $25 pre ordered so i dont know lol sigh i need to invest in another Vape stand this will be number 3 im starting to have trouble remebering which rda/rta has what build and what juice in it etc etc first world problems 8)

Just watched his review and I don't really understand how that piece between the posts would prevent the juice from making its way to the wick tails. It's raised, right? So juice hitting that piece has to go somewhere. You can clearly see that there are gaps between the air flow tubes and the posts and the walls of the well. The juice would have to flow down into those gaps if that middle piece is raised.

That is how I feel about the Kennedy 22 and why I do not think Tsunami > Kennedy 24. The Tsunami 24 may be the one to tip the balance in favor of GeekVape. That is until Kennedy releases the Fat Dragon and Demon Cap for the K24. Unless of course, the Tsunami 24 includes a Dragon-style Cap. Guess we will have to wait and see...

Got the Goon in today and I must say so far I'm impressed. The clamp system works really well and it's the easiest atty I've ever build on and I own just about every 24mm atty there is to own. Out of the box it was flawless, no oil no burs or anything. It came in a small embroidered black felt bag with some extra screws and o rings. It's shorter then that K24 and the drip tip has about the same bore. Haven't had a chance to vape on it yet but it's next in my rotation.

I've been vaping on the subzero comp 24. It's a standard two post with a single hole, hybrid compatible but if anyone has used one of these atty's you know what I mean when I say it's weird. The barrel doesn't pop off instead you put the deck in the top of the barrel and slide it down and the barrel locks onto the deck with small notches so when you're adjusting the airflow it doesn't spin 360. After you're done building on it, you wick it, remove the base from your mod/build platform and slide the deck into the top of the barrel, fit your wicks in then slide it down, line up your notches and adjust your wicks. The top delrin chuff fits a bit tight but can still be popped off to redrip. The juice well on this atty is really small, like a few drops and it's full but aside from those few nit pick things this atty is amazing. I got the tungsten grey color and it's gorgeous, was flawless out of the package. It included a 510 adapter, some extra screws, a single coil plug and what looks like an extra 510 pin also included a proprietary horseshoe tool to remove the bottom of the atty for use with hybrids. It's fit flush on any mod I've put it on. The vape I get off this thing is spectacular, will go as far to say it's one of the best I've had aside from maybe the magma reborn but it's close becasue of the turbulent airflow on the M24. I'm running some alien fused claptons that come in at .22 ohms vaping it at 135w, ~ 5.47v and the flavor and clouds are phenomenal. While I'm running a somewhat advanced build at a high wattage there is zero doubt in my mind that this atty will preform with any build in it. Aside from the Kennedy 24 this is the only atty that I've vaped on where I have strongly considered picking up a second. Right now my atty preference is Subzero 24>Magma Reborn>Tugboat 24>Kennedy 24> Temple Mini> Temple. I have yet to vape on the goon and I have a Tsunami on the way but so far all of these attys will remain in my daily rotation and I highly recommend any one of them.

So this is the only review on the goon I could find and the guy loves except for one caveat and that was the thing everyone was worried about ! I guess its hard to fit some builds due to how much room the clamp system takes up. Granted this guy tried to fit 3mm diameter twisted Clapton's and they were too big so he had to go down to a 2.5mm id and he said even then it was close. I'm hoping with just a normal Clapton or SS/kanthal build that you can fit 3mm and or a bit more.

I love the looks of it!

Thanks for writing this up! Every time I go to speak about the Subzero, all that comes out is, "I love it!" Trying to explain that atty is not easy, but you did it! It's really unlike too many other atties I've ever used and that flavor, tho! Man, It just performs so GD well! A lot of airflow, but not so much that there's no feeling to the draw (like how I feel about the Kennedy). And, yeap, first time I really ever bought two of the same RDAs. May still get a third (this time will probably 24 mm).

My local shop got these in and they are beautiful just as you said they were. I was so tempted to get one, but they didn't have stainless, and I personally didn't want bottom air flow or 24mm. But man, the temptation was real.

Cool thing about atties like that is they should almost always be available. No rush. It's a bunch out there.
