tomorrow I'm doing something brilliant or stupid... I'm going to cut the second post holes on the velocity to shorten the height and use my rogue top cap, I think it fits and will work but can't be certain until I cut them as they hit the roof on the cap...
then I'll hopefully have a two post top airflow rda
Me too! I'm the same, super excited for this to come in. Hope it's sometime soon. But pre orders have a way of screwing me lol.
I think all pre orders are crap, every single one I'm in on has a way of screwing me. I finally got a hold of them through Facebook and they said they "started shipping" which means they haven't in my eyes. They said they'd post another Google doc with tracking. Whatever that means, I've never heard or seen that way of giving out tracking before. I'm not too happy considering I ordered Friday and paid Monday morning and it still isn't even shipped yet. That and the people that didn't even pre order it already have it considering sites had them conveniently a day or 2 after that Google doc went live.Wish I would have known your participation could put a hex on this preorder.
Did you here any word on a ship date?
It's ok I'll have it just in time for when the low pro v2 releases.I tried to tell ya guys...
no, I didn't buy into the velocity hype but wanted to try it... so I don't mind throwing 12 dollars down the drain![]()
Got in another 3 attys today. The 454 v2, The Kennedy 24 and the Phenotype. Having them soak in a hot water/vodka solution now. First impressions, the 454v2 posthole is really small, like I find it hard to believe you'll be able to get dual anything, muchless quad in there here unless it's like 30g, also the o ring is super tight but once it's lubed up/broke in it should be fine. The atty is also really short, only a bit taller than the stumpy I was surprised at how short it actually was. (looking for build suggestions on this one). The Kennedy 24 looks stunning, it's nice and beefy, feels good in hand and looks great on the snow wolf, the post holes aren't the largest you won't be getting dual fused claptons in there but standard claptons should be fine. The phenotype also looks great and the dual posts have massive holes. I got some fused clapons, 25g core wrapped with 28g and there won't be a problem getting them in there. I did some test draws with the airholes on the pheno and wide open it's basically breathing. One air hole open seems to be the sweet spot but I'll have to see once I get a build in there. Once I build on the three and have time to vape on them I'll report back.
Can you post some pics of your build. I dont care that you cant slap giant coils in it. I will be getting one, just letting my buddy play around with it for another week and tell me how he feels after spending some time with it. $45 at local vape, pffffft.
Ok so one lead gets bent and trapped if you
Ah, what the hell! I decided to try a quad coil. I think it was 9 wraps each at 24 gauge on a 3 mm bit, coming in at ~.2Ω.

Pretty easy to install. I am not concerned with perfection as I just want to try it.

Wick'd up. Note: whenever I do vertical coils, I ALWAYS juice from the bottom to make sure the liquid rises. This was taken under a minute after I added liquid to the well. Already rising. Now I can juice down.

Gave a hair cut and about to vape...
A bit too much for me. But, good. I prefer duals. Granted, this is my first ever quad coil so I am not sure if I should've done it one way or another, but it vapes fine, just a bit too aggressive. Vaping it at 90 watts just too move all these coils at once. I think a smidgen larger ID and fewer wraps may be better (maybe a different gauge?). But, I wanted to try it after posting my horizontals. I can say I've done it now. Back to my preferred vape style.
Edit: Here is the spit-back! This feels like the devil's gleet!Sheesh. It goes away quickly, but at first! Watch out. I barely had any at any time with my horizontals.
Just put a quad in mine and really enjoying it. Quad 24g, 2.5mm ID, 6 wraps coming in at .12 ohms vaping at 115w. Vapor is warm, dense and very flavourful. I'm honestly surprised at this atty, was really easy to build and wick and gives off amazing flavor. Think my next build will be the same except I'll use 316SS instead of kanthal.Ah, what the hell! Just put a build in my 454, quad vertical 24g, 2.5mm ID 6 wraps coming in at .10. First I will say I was surprised at how easy it was to build and wick. I'm even more surprised at how good the flavor and vapor production is. The vapor is nice
