It seems to me the NarDa would be one of the easier rda's to put on a drill press and bore out the air supply... It could even be done free hand if someone had a steady enough hand. Any good machine shops in your area?

Not to necro.. lol.. but I just fired up my Narda after hand drilling. I used number drills to slowly take it up a size at a time, then wiggled the slot to keep it slotted.

It was just sitting around unused. I was tired of the poor airflow. It is rocking now! First drill was a #47, last was a #30/.128"/3.25mm. Probably used every 3rd drill. Broke 2. It's a FOG machine.

Rocking a single SS316l 4mm I.D. spaced coil @1.05ohm in TC. Center of coil is just above center of big air slots. GOOD flavor too.

You drill the inside baffle-thing, and the cap?
Photos?
:)

Oh yeah, right through with the top cap installed. I'm an impatient devil, it still needs a little dressing up to remove a very small edge on the outside of the cap, and on the inside at the "baffle" but I'll get to it. I just wanted to vape it. :)

Interesting...
dripper-mirage-v4-evo.jpg

You get (or decline, to save 15 Euro) a whole BF DECK...
Can'f find much in english on this thing. Plus, I don't Fbook, and their website is antivirus-blocked...
But it's interesting. And also, you can clearly hear "squonk" and "chuff" in a review in Russian, which is fun.

I thought we were finally done with 3 post drippers.

ETA: Just found a price on this: 149 Euro so about $158 USD before shipping. I mean, really? At least the O-Atty, while ridiculously expensive, looks like quality work. This looks shoddy.

I'll wait for the first broken post screw report before I pass judgement on it

* turns, looks at his manufacture tag on the base of the back of his neck, reads "Parts from Taiwan, Spain, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia. Built on machines in Scotland, Germany, Czechoslovakia. Imported and hybrid with Mulatto, Native American, Mexican, Irish, English, Indian." scratches his noggin, shakes it and goes "hm", sighs as he reads the next portion of the label ... "100% American and American Made!" ... shrugs*

Exactly. I don't want to see drippers devolve.

To be honest, I'm even getting tired of velocity style decks. Even those, the wire shifts considerably sometimes when tightening down the set screw. The Goon style clamps don't have that problem, but are massively airflow restrictive.

I have yet to try the postless clamp styles I am starting to see. Not sure if they are the answer or not, but I'm not investing too much anymore in RDA's. Someone is going to come up with a game changer soon that will make mounting super easy, and I won't want to use any of this other stuff anymore.

Oh, I should add that my current sentiment is due to putting new coils on a velocity style deck yesterday. Vertibraid or tribraid, it was a PAIN. Any wire not just plain round, just HATES those set screws.

I know I'm an oddball but...
a - don't like Velocity posts much
b - don't care if it's postless, or 2 or 3 or 4 - I just have to give it a look and a try, and it might be good, or not. I actually PREFER the option to readily put in duals - getting a great vape with 1 coil is less likely for me - not impossible, but more limiting given my other preferences (kanthal, low mass...)

So, you figure if someone machined up a Goon style clamp having decent air flow control option/s that would be a means to profit like a mudder?

I'm pondering sumpin actually, too. One of those why not ideas that you kind of have to ask but also kind of lets a cat out o' the bag. Why not use a Velocity V2 top cap on a Goon clamping base deck? Add in a FDV squonking conversion pin already pre-machined in the 'accessories/tool-kit' & dub it "De Mudder" - The Be All, End All RDA.

Hey Tobeco!
If you're reading, I'll sell you this idea for two things, 1. 2% of profits 2. You agree to sell De Mudder RDA for no more than $10.00 USD or equivalent. Ergo, each you sell at $10, I get $2 you get $8. Sounds reasonable to me. :) Oh yeah, one minor third thing, I want three of De Mudder RDAs shipped to me. :)

Velocity post decks are overused, I agree, but that's because they make building dead simple. Two post setups, Velocity posts or not, are just so much easier to deal with. Split center post decks are decent as well. I just hate three post decks. Sure, I can build on them but it's more annoying than it needs to be.

The Goon clamp setup is also easy to work with. I wonder if that airflow restriction you mentioned helps the flavor in the Goon. it doesn't match my flavor attys but I get pretty damn good flavor from my Goon. The Unholy RDA uses the same concept but the clamps are vertical and have grooves etched in them to prevent the wires from slipping. It's the next dripper I plan on purchasing.

Not an oddball just have a different preference. I just can't stand 3 post decks and don't really miss that they have disappeared from new attys for the most part.

I prefer single coil vaping but I do like having the option to use duals if I want to. That's a minor problem with the Hadaly. Sure, you could put duals in it but it doesn't seem optimal.

Anybody using the Terk, Apocalypse Gen 2, Unholy or Kennedy Trickster? Trying to find some opinions on these attys. I've got a hankering for big air attys and these are on my short list.

I do not own nor have I used the Mterk or the Unholy RDA as to the trickster and the apocalypse here are a few thoughts.

The Kennedy trickster is going to have the same exact vape as the 2 post Kennedy (except for adjustable airflow and bf pin) which IMO is a mix of clouds and flavor. The Kennedy has super smooth airflow and for a larger RDA still retains a decent amount of flavor. Build quality is superb although I do not like how the outside cap goes so far down in the trickster in order to adjust the airflow ( a la tsunami)

The apocalypse gen 2 is a nice big as yer freaking mum (as the bogan would say) RDA. Made here in the USA utilizing a 2 post clamping system. It's a chunky RDA and has a nice heft to it. The machining and build quality are very nice as is the gold plating on the deck. The clamp system is a bit different then the goons and IMO it is superior to the goons. The clamps are beveled for easy coil installation (no hanging it upside down lol) and thick as hell. Unlike my goon whose clamp bent the first time I put a thick framed staple in it. With the clamps raised it looks and is built on almost exactly like the twisted messes squared/24 deck. I have had no problems installing everything from Aliens to staggered framed staples. The juice well at first seemed a bit shallow to me however it is deceptive as although its only 4mm deep there is a ton of open space due to the deck setup enabling to still hold a very respectable amount of juice. The airflow is a 5mm circle that is adjustable via a teardrop shaped cutout in the top cap. Airflow wide open is airy however not super excessive and I usually vape it about 50% open. Flavor is actually very comparative to the goon as is the vapor production. Although I do think the airflow is more customizable then the goon and easier to fine tune.

All in all I like the way the Goon looks better however I like the ease of build and vape better on the Apocalypse gen 2. Sorry for the comparison to the goon but its so similar in the way it vapes i thought it was the easiest way to describe the vape. All in all if you like big cloudy RDAs that will swallow any build you throw at it and ask for more I think it's a great RDA and being made in the USA it's not cheap but definitely worth it in my opinion.

P.s. I forgot to add that it is advertised as having the same size drip tip opening as the goon/Kennedy however only about 50% of my goon/Kennedy drip tips fit which is strange however I do like that I can use some of my nicer drip tips in it and I thought worth mentioning.
