So im pretty new to vaping and I'm interested in rebuildable coils as they seem to be longer lasting and less wasteful, the pre built coils seem pretty wasteful if you have to get new ones once a ~week and dump a chunk of metal each time.
any advice on picking out a RDA for a first time user, is there any mod requirements? The mod I have is a vaporesso luxe nano - small mod 5-80 watts

RDA = Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. These are for either squonk mods, which your Luxe is not, or for dripping e-liquid into as you go. It's a good idea to use a mod w/ Temperature Control when using an RDA, along w/ wire that can be used for that (Stainless Steel, Nickel, or Titanium usually). i'm not familiar w/ your mod but, given when it was sold, it probably can do Temp Control. However, Vaporesso's Temp Control is not one of the best in the view of most folks.

RTA - Rebuildable Tank Atomizer. These can be used on any mod w/ a 510 tank connection. Your Luxe has that. They work like drop-in coil tanks but you rebuild them.

RTDA - Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomizer. Practically speaking, they're basically RTAs that can be turned into RDAs. They're generally considered easier to build, or at least to wick, than RTAs (tho' that's not been my personal experience). They're usually taller than RTAs.

Your Luxe should be able to take any tank w/ up to a 25mm diameter w/o overhang. There are plenty of options available. i'd lean toward a single-coil, top-airflow RTA, given your mod & your experience level.

You didn't mention whether you vape DL, MTL, or both. Some rebuildable tanks are intended specifically for MTL. Something to keep in mind.

Among the products available, different folks have their favorites. i'm no expert. HellVape's Dead Rabbit Solo checks the boxes of what i suggested; there's an RTA & an RDA. Also, for MTL, Reload Vapor's MTL RTA. Other posters may have different possibilities for you.

    Best of luck.

Thanks, that helps a lot especially with the acronyms, ill look into RTAs and the hellvape,
seems a lot more convenient and logical to replace the cotton and the wire than buying coils regularly,
I found ones for one of my tanks at 1 euro a coil on sale so I bought a few to get me by, while I do some research on RTAs,

I've gone through about 3 coils since I started last week, I let one run dry without realising it and rinsing it with warm water didnt save it,
I went through another 1 in 3-4 days with maybe 1200 2-3second pulls,
I had another 1 that was just bad from the start It kept flooding at first and now it tastes a bit burnt without much use

It happens to the best of us. Another benefit of a rebuildable w/ TC.

That's just gonna happen w/ drop-in coils. Thousands are manufactured at a time and lemons are going to get through.

Happy to be of help. Everyone here is. :)
