From the very first reply, people told him to see a doctor, asap. I even suggested a phone number he could call to discuss things and a symptom checker if he didn't want to go straight to A&E (ER). What else do you suggest we should have done? (And the above isn't meant in an aggressive way. I'm just asking)

Not really reading through 16 pages of posts, but personally it sounds more like a kidney infection rather than something related to vaping. Since vaping is primarily focused around the mouth, throat and lungs, it's a pretty long shot that after all this time it would severely effect your kidneys in this way. Like everyone else said, you should definitely visit the doctor, or the emergency room if the pain is interfering with your daily functions.
