So I recently got a 454 big block rda, running it on a Cloupor dna30. 0.7 ohm dual coil 28g kanthal, at 25watts. but it seems like after 6 hours or so i can hardly get any vapor production and the flavor is crap. Is it normal to have to re-wick an rda this often? My kayfun clone can go for a week or two without new wicks and I vape it way more. usually 1ohm with 28g running at 15-17watts. Any advice would be appreciated.

That's not normal, I don't think it's the wicking material myself, unless it's swelling and choking the coil. Rayon has it's advantages and some people love it, but I'm hesitant to say run out and get some and it will solve this problem.

You're right you shouldn't have to be wicking it every 6 hours. What battery are you running in the cloupor? Can you post some pictures of your build?

Switch to rayon. Had same problems with cotton hard finding a bag I liked. Can go on the same rayon wick for days

I love rayon but the next poster may be on to something. Without his/her critical request, one will never know how to help.

Can you post some pictures of your build?

For using cotton. Try making a wick of cotton and soaking it in ejuice for 24hrs before using it. I build .05 ohms on my mech and even sometimes on a fresh battery it feels harsh like the cotton may be burning. I could go a couple days or up to a week before I change the wick. It depends on the ohms, how thick the wick is, and how long I let the cotton soak with ejuice before vaping it.

Cotton needs time get fully absorbed with ejuice. I put my cotton wick in a small bowl and put juice on it until there is a small puddle around the wick. Sometime later the puddle is gone and the cotton has swelled up, meaning that it soaked up all the juice. Rebuilding with a wet wick is messy on my hands, but it's worth it.
