When cell phones first came to market everyone loved them and marvelled at the technology and convenience. After a while (2-3 years), the users began to recognize the shortcomings of their devices and began demanding more and more features and improvements. It continues to this day.

I think the difference though, Jaaxx, is that when someone promises a "new and improved" cell phone, you can pretty much guarantee that's what you'll get.

I think part if the problem here is marketing. How many times have we heard "x will blow your 901 (or whatever) out of the water"? So of course, all the owners of the 901 are like "wow, can't wait to try that!" Then the product comes out and fails miserably.

I suppose the suppliers are just going by what the manufacturers are saying but really....time after time, it gets disappointing....and brings people to points like this.

If you're going to advertise something as "new and improved", then try it yourself for 6 months then come back and tell us how it is "new and improved". Batteries last more than a month? Atomizers last more than 2 weeks and still function like new? If you can't really back the product as "new and improved", then don't advertise it that way 'cause you're just fartin' in the wind!

Then we go through the juice fiasco. "My favorite supplier is out of stock again!" Well then go somewhere else! Don't just sit there and be a victim. If you love Walmart but they are constantly out of something you need, then go to Walgreens for chrissake! And quit moaning when you've waited 2 weeks for juice and are still waiting, if you're not willing to go somewhere else for it instead.

I went through this same thing...came to rely on one supplier for all my juice. Then when they were out week after week, I went into a dead panic. That was until I started ordering from other suppliers who did have the goods...problem solved. I don't go for the hype anymore...I go for dependability. Do what works....not just what you are used to...because times are a changin', my friend.

Sorry Jaaxx, this wasn't aimed at you. Just seeing the hype others are being sucked into is disheartening. We have no control over the manufacturers but at least the suppliers should do their best to be honest with us....we rely on them....and they on us. We have to work together here.

There is nothing else in our lives that we rely so heavily on to obtain through the net...and this is a huge pitfall. We want something to eat, we go to the grocery store. Drink? Need gas? We travel a few miles and we get what we want (and need!)...instantly.

But here, you have to rely on a bunch of people you don't even know and will most likely never even meet....to provide products you desperately need. And you are basically at their mercy as to when something so important will be available and delivered...and if it will even work. This kind of reliability sucks!

But what choice do we have? Buy overpriced Njoys at the local Pilot? Then what about replacement parts....and juice? Eh...they got us coming and going...but we still don't have to be victims. Pick and choose who you deal with. If nothing else, you do still have that option. Use it wisely.

And this wasn't directed at any particular supplier either. It's really just an overall problem.

OK...end of rant

gep if you don't mind the design, materials, look&feel and a little noise, maybe you can try this:

I-INHALE

plus this:
Natural American Spirit > Our Products > Overview

and maybe a little bit of this:
https://www.lorannoils.com/c-6-super-strength-flavors-candy-oils.aspx

If you want to see vapor add PG or VG to the mix.

Just a suggestion.

Vaporizing tobacco REDUCE HARM (95-98% tar reduction) and you will know exactly what are you vaping plus no more batteries or atomizers just butane PLUS 2 years manufactures warranty.

Growing pains for customers, suppliers and manufactures...Ouch ! Hey remember that first drag off the perfect atomizer and a fresh off the charger battery..Perfection for the nic addiction problems all solved I can pass the mini mart today, I don't have to buy a five dollar pack of nails in coffin...That's the good day, the perfect day..Take a deep breath..
Then you get home and you realize that you are relying on an electronic cigarette that can go at any time with a two week tuff love too bad email from where the heck you spent your hard earned...
Oh ya it's worth it in a way..Just to pass that freaking mini mart and not wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air...And I totally agree with everyone These bloody things should work and for a lot longer than they do !!!!! My plan is to find the perfect e-cig then quit and only pull it out when i think i want to start smoking up again to stop the vicious cycle once and for all ..
Coz....
It's all good fun till someone looses an eye...LOL

Rant mode on speeling may stink and so will Grammar!!

Ok i find the lack of a central source in most places a pain with these devices.
Thier are simply to may suppliers and thier selling either thier own thing from some where else under a different name or just marking it up and sending it on.

i think if suppliers where forcing thier sources to fix the devices we have and improve the next batch of them rather then creating more device's. i think we should have no more then 2 types of penstyles and two types of cig style then all the rest should be an off shoot like tthe SD. also stop getting an old device and giving it a new batt and calling it something. dont just slap a new face on old ****. get more manuafacters in place world wide damm the price and get them more relible for repair or replacments.

what gets me is how someone can take a (new) device from old stock...

Rant Mode Off

This was just a rant and nothing more if you identify with any of it demand it from your suppliers and for suppliers demand it from your distributors and for distributors demand it up the chain and if it dont happen dont buy again.

"If i have affended Think but this and all is mended that you have but Vapped here while these rants did appear... And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend: if you pardon, I will mend: And, as I am an honest Duck,
If we have unearned luck Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue, We will make amends ere long; Else the duck a liar call; So, good night unto you all. Give me your hands, if we be friends, And Robin shall restore amends."

Never in the field of Human Vaping have so many paid so much to so few for so little.

I completly agree with gep, and i also agree with all of the rest of the posts.
I just hate yvilla and Lu because they've got Screwdrivers with penstyle attachments and i can't seem to be able to find one to order.
I don't want to buy any "new model" whoever makes it until i see a big change in Quality.
The amount of money saved on the thing below is not exactly true. I've spent at least half of it on gear.

SambucaLu, you and Gep really did a great job of smmerizing the problems with this product. Let's hope some suppliers and manufacturers are actually paying attention. I know this is heresy, but your observations is why I thought it would be an advantage if a tobacco company decided to provide this product. They have the money, know-how, distribution and marketing skill to deliver a consistent product that is used globally. That's probably naive on my part.

After vaping exclusively for 6 weeks, I'm back to smoking analogs with the vaporizer "filling in" when/where I can't smoke - at work, in my house, etc. (But at least I'm not back to my 30-year pack a day consumption, a packs lasts three days.) I've every intention of continuing to vape, but these things need to be manufactured more reliably to be considered more than just a gimmick or novelty device, and frankly, to get me 100% off the tobacco again.

Ditto Tallulah. I love that these things even exist, but for my tobacco habit to be completely obliterated, I need something that kicks serious ..... Everything I've tried has been....not bad, just ok. I really don't want to keep throwing money at the "latest and greatest", only to be dissapointed because it's exactly like all my others. That i-inhale does look promising, though ;-)!

In the meantime, I will continue smoking my 5 analogs a day with a tar filter, and vaping inbetween.

Well you will need to buy atomizers even with the SD, the SD uses DSE901 atomizers, i don't know the fail rate of the atomizers but I think it is still high.

So in other words Lithium you are say, "Don't bother with it because all e-cigarettes suck!, no exceptions".

Well that blows i must say

Ok thanks Lithium, cheers!

Mmm if you want an e-cigarette that last forever... well then all suck, this things are not made for last forever, I have seen HEAVY smokers switching atomizers every two weeks, but I have seen people using the same atomizer for 4 months, a lot of us know that this thecnology is not ready for mainstream right now.

look some bottom line information.. we sell the SD.. we know how long atomizers last.. we say buy new ones every two weeks on average... treat them as consumables right from the word go.. buy cheap and buy in bulk up front..

okay i break my own f-cking rule.. which is not to post in this place any more..

i have had enough of the whole mess.. but... e smoking is e smoking... the products have been mis-sold right from the f-cking word go... they are in essence all semi disposable items..

our SD itself isnt semi disposable but the atomizers at five dollars each are..

now if i get flamed by the usual lame brains that control this place i dont kinda care..

but if u are that desperate there is an answer... if u aint well its back to real tobacco else stop..

for the record the existing chinese factories are working two shifts a day seven days a week trying to keep up with the ever growing western demand for e cigs...

this is buggering up the ever lasting need to keep replacing failed e cig parts.. the fast supplier aint so fast any more.. they have no f-cking stock..

your ever loving troll

What a delightful, and thoroughly honest, thread!

So there are indeed are some unhappy bunnies in La-La Land. Good for you. These are unreliable, overly expensive things that need constant futzing and thoughtful prayer each evening. Just going out on the town takes an hour to round up fully charged batteries, an extra switch, two carts, etc. And never, ever, take only one device. I take three -- everywhere I go. I hope one will work.

The first true disposable that offers predictable, reliable service, cig after cig, will get all my money.

And Trog's right about these all being disposables, when you get right down to it. Every part of 'em gets thrown away in a short period. Only the timing varies.

In a house.
Trog has proved that the Power issue can be overcome by making the Screwdriver. (Another fine British Invention)
Now can't someone come up with the Atomiser designed to do the job properly here in the West.
I mean c'mon you Scientifical people. Why are we able to make Spacecraft but not a bloody Atomiser. I bet if the Army needed it for a Weapon we'd have it next month.
I've known from about week 4 of buying my first e-cig that the Atomiser was a disposable as it is made at the moment.
Still, I may have spent a lot of money but i hav'nt had a Cigarette since the first day i got my first e-cig. :)

I've been vaping for 10 days now, have gone from three packs of analogs a day to one, and have so far been very happy. I hung out here on the forums for a while before purchasing an E cigarette. I bought the JoyE510 after getting recommendations from a supplier. I've not had any problems so far, save a battery that cuts out too quick. The supplier has graciously posted that he will swap out any defective items, but I'm choosing to hang onto what I have. I do not want to go without, and now debating on what to buy next. I do not blame the supplier, I think that he was just stating what he believed to be true .That is like blaming the dollar store for selling the contaminated peanut butter crackers I bought. Not to say that you guys don't have a legitimate beef with suppliers advertising and not having the item in stock.

I spent $70.00 for the one I bought, which kind of hurts if it dies in a short period of time, but nothing compared to what some of you have spent. I'm not trying to be condescending, but I thank you guys for paving the way for people like me. I'm serious about that!

I had stated in a previous thread, to use an old cliche, we can put a man on the moon, but can't make a decent E cigarette. I am an American but must say that this is the reason (not just E cigarettes, but many products) that the USA is getting our butts kicked in the global market. I read somewhere that the Chinese have been developing these E cigarettes for about five years (please correct me if I'm wrong) and keep trying to improve them. Where the hell has the U.S. been? That's like our auto industry, why in the hell can't our developers forsee what other countries can? We can make a bunker buster bomb, stealth airplane, and a space shuttle but can't foresee a healthier way of smoking? The gov't has been .....ing for years about the dangers of smoking yet have done nothing to find a better way.

Sorry, why do all my post end up in a campaign against the gov't? Hmm, maybe my psychiatrist was correct....!
