All right...I have been lurking around the boards for about 2 weeks now and have come to the conclusion I am ready to switch from analogs to vaping. Great choice right??

One problem...I have no idea what the heck is what. I am so confused by all the jargon but think I have an idea of what I need.

So I am going with a ProVari. Good choice? Appears that it is from all the reading.

So here is what I think i need:
  • ProVari--Starter Kit
  • Cartomizer tank ( I think the 3.5ml should do it)
  • Replacement atomizers (?) 1.5 ohm or 3.0 ohm???
  • E-juice...any recommendations from where or flavor?
So this is my starting package. Good or bad choice? Any suggestions?

I would have ordered the thing yesterday if I was confident I was selecting the right components and accessories.

Honestly, if you have never vaped before I wouldn't buy a Provari right away.

Here's why-

No matter what you buy INCLUDING a Provari you still need a back up PV. Buy your back up PV first.

Just buy 2 Twists OR 2 of the new Kgo VV batteries along with a charger and about 2 boxes of Boge 2 ohm Cartomizers. Then buy a couple sample packs of E liquid.

ALL this outta cost you less than 100 bucks. Use that gear for a Month or 2, familiarize yourself with everything, see if you even like vaping, and if you do THEN lay down the big bucks for a Provari.

Yes to the Provari. I started with the slender smoktech tanks. They don't hold a lot, but they don't cost much, so you could have different flavors ready. Atomizers...a lot of people love them, but I don't have a lot of experience with them. I tend to over fill, or burn them. I end up reading and forgetting what I am doing. The lower the ohm it lets more vapor through. I like Rawr for juices. The site has pretty good descriptions of what they taste like.

btw...what color Provari?

Maybe my advise is wrong on the Provari. I actually bought a vmax first and that was a mistake. I ordered a mini and regular Provari at the same time. I really did appreciate them after the vmax. I have 15 ego batteries that I purchased after the Provari. They are all great, and I like having all different flavors to rotate. One other one that is kinda fun...the iTaste, it is about the same as the egos but it has magnetic connections.

Never thought I would say this but I recommend you just go with the Provari and get extra batts and tanks or attys. I started with the cig lookalikes and have owned almost everything in between. I put off getting a Provari until recently and now I wonder why. It is well made and has a great warranty. Unless you drop it off the building, I don't see it breaking down in the near future. That said, I do have back ups for the back ups lol.

I completely agree with lotsoffish!! It might be fine to skip a lot of steps......but unless you just have more money than you know what to do with I would at least try vaping before jumping into the provari. As fish said......you'll still need something for backup. Get that first, get your feet wet in vaping and make sure it's something that works for you. Also find the juice delivery system that works best for you. That might be some sort of carto/tank, or maybe a vivi nova, or dripping etc.

Congrats on deciding to kick the stinkies, but if you haven't even tried vaping really.....I'd start with something smaller at first. Something along the lines of a yung june type lavatube. I doubt you could go wrong with that one. Personally I love the pwm technology in the gripper, but it's not built well. The threading stinks, or else I'd recommend that one hands down.

    Well thank you Debadoo.

I just don't think it's practical to own a Provare as your only PV. I mean if you use a PV to quit smoking you really have to take it everywhere with you. Folks shouldn't be taking a Provare camping or to a football game or to a concert etc. It's big, heavy and EXPENSIVE. If I hauled a Provare around with me 27/7 I would end up either losing it or ruining within a Month.

dude good idea going for a provari immediately, you'll probably end up upgrading to one eventually if you didnt.. But everyone is right about having a backup. Have something super reliable like an ego with a clearomizer, just because the provari does have a bit of a learning curve. I burned out a ton of cartos with one.

I've been vaping for over a year and I just ordered my first provari. Granted, I have a buzz pro which is practically the same thing, but it even took me like 6 months of vaping to get that. Buy a cheap eGo battery (less than 10 bucks), a usb charger, a couple of boxes of LR cartos, and a sample pack or two of juice from "insert site here". You've spent less than 30 bucks, you can vape for 2 or 3 weeks, maybe longer, keep reading the forum while you're doing this, maybe check the tips and tricks. By the time you finish all your juice and cartos, you'll know whether or not you want to start dropping some dough on heavy duties.

The Provari is a nice APV I dont recommend new people start with one, but if thats what you wish to do there is nothing wrong with starting there either ;) :)

I would get the 3 ohm cartomizers for your tank. I would also recommend getting two atomizers somewhere between 2.4-3. ohm and a drip tip. It is much easier to try out our new flavors on an atomizer then filling an entire cartomizer to find out if you like the flavor or not.

There are so many flavors and flavors are SO subjective to peoples personal taste that is hard to recommend juice to a beginner. Backwoods Brew and Copper Creek are my favorite juice vendors. Where ever you purchase juice try some tobacco flavors, some fruit flavors and some dessert flavors to give yourself an idea of which line you might like best.

Good Luck :) Vaping is awesome :vapor:
