Ok, so believe it or not, I'm liking the readyxwick. I seem to have the sheit tuned pretty well.

A couple of things I've noticed. I don't know if this is normal
1. It doesn't seem to hold a ton of juice. My wick is about 1-2mm each side past the coil.
I do take megahits. The other guys I know who vape, take what I call sissy hits.

2. I seem to have to dry burn the coil once a day.

3. I'm getting about 1 hit per squonk. I squeeze, hold for 3 seconds and hit. If I don't squonk again, the next hit is dry.

That's terrible! I'd wear my thumb to the bone.:)

I must be a world class wimp. I get 2 or 3 hits per squonk, I rarely ever dry burn, I don't go by counting seconds I look at the air hole and when I see a glimmer of juice I stop take a quick draw to pull the juice back inside wait a second to let it drain and fire it up. My wicks might be a little longer than yours. Short wicks are for cotton users.

I tried all kinds of silica wick incl. 1300° "high Performance", but didn't like any of them. None came even close to japanese cotton.
Wish I could try readyxwick, but for some reason, it is not available outside US.
Thus, I'll stick with the cotton (probably would have kept the cotton anyway).

I am not sure why it is not available outside the US either. I ordered some yesterday and asked why. I work on a boat and we go to the Bahamas sometimes, so, I don't want to get in trouble. The fine is from what I recall about $25,000.00! Seems kind of steep for a piece of ceramic. I will let you know when I find out. I visited Cologne a few years ago. It is a pretty city. I wanted to buy a dirndl, but everytime I went by the store it was closed. But, I did get some 4711 from the original store. And I climbed to the top of the cathederal!

I had heard that RxW (or some variant) is used in military applications and that this was why there's an embargo on exportation. Sounds a bit spurious, I know, but I've heard it from 3 or 4 different sources (who, of course, could all have heard it from a single fibbing source).

I did some searching a while back and came across documented court cases where people (usually manufacturers) got done. I don't think its worth the fine, since I have a good vape. I could buy a lot of cool vape gear (80 Reo's and assorted RDA's) and not get a criminal record by going without. I thought the fine was $40k plus, not $25k. I wouldn't be surprised if the fine becomes redundant in due course. I see China are selling clearos with ceramic wicks now, hmmm, with activated carbon so when you do a 10 second dry burn the wick is "self-cleaned", hmmm, now what was the thread topic again? Sorry bout the meanderings here.

Actually this is quite true. Almost all of the CNC equipment at my past jobs had large labels stating that they were strategic products, or something along those lines. It clearly stated that you must contact the manufacturer of the equipment before moving it out of the country it was residing in. This was even on CNC lathes?

Personally, my only hope at this logic was that the lathes were capable of maintaining 0.001mm accuracy. Whether or not the operator was, is different story.

There are export controlled items like Ceramic wicks that cannot be exported at all. Then there are embargoed countries that you cannot ship certain type of items to. I'm in a tech industry and have a list of countries I cannot do business in and if you tell me or I suspect you're going to take it there, I cannot sell it to you either.

So the worst offence would be an export controlled item into an embargoed country.
