I found doing the V cut was a little hard for me, and didn't turn out looking very good. I ended up cutting the tube so it looks like a syringe needle. Works just as good! Let us know if all this solves your problems!

I'm going to be completely honest, but cutting things on my Reo makes me extremely nervous, lol. I don't want to ruin my baby.

If you have spare parts, there should be no fear of doing your own maintenance. This, and Rob and all the experienced Reonaughts are always around somewhere to help out.

Well, I performed the following procedures on my beloved Reo:
-Cleaned it top to bottom with a toothbrush
- Got the O ring out and cleaned it with alcohol and water
- Put O ring back in original position
-Made the tiny V cuts into my tubing

I don't think I'm missing anything. Man, cutting those V's was a very delicate procedure.

I'm vaping the virus with some frenilla right now and it's totally yummy.

Will report back with results after 1/2 mark is reached. :D

Thank you all for your help!

xoxoxo,
Dani

REOs are notorious for getting harder to squonk once you reach the halfway mark. My wife's solution is to swap to a fresh bottle when she gets down to the halfway point. By the time she's gone through her (some ? number) of juice bottles, she combines the leftover halves, then refills the rest. Seems too much trouble, to me, but it works for her.

I had to giggle at this post because I do the EXACT same thing. Haha. :D

Have no fear Dani... you really cant mess anything up with what you are doing!

The tube... even if you cut a little bit too much or the inverted V didn't work out you can just cut the end of the tube at an angle. The goal here is to not have the end of the tube be dead flat so it cannot suction to the bottom of the bottle. If it a bit too short the Reo will work just fine, it just wont suck all the juice out of the bottle when empty.

The RM2 is an excellent little atty and very forgiving! You might want to try running KGD or Cellucotton wicks just for a different experience. I have never used RxW so I cant chime in on that.

If you still have problems can you post up pictures of your build? We may be able to pick up on something in the pics that you are missing.

Good Luck!!

I usually spray rubbing alcohol mixed with water (50/50 mix), and spray it on my O-Ring to make sure it's clean. Stretch it a little, and place it on the Reo; then screw the atomizer done. I've never heard of anyone using any type of lubrication on the O-Ring beforehand.
The Idea of lubricating o rings in any application is so that they do not grab and get out of shape when tightened down. It also prolongs the life of the o ring and keeps it from drying out. Your alcohol water mix will prematurely dry out the o ring leading cracking.

Now admittedly not real critical for an atty o ring. I also dabble in Salt water reef systems, with an external pump that's moving 3000gal of water an hour, year after year, o ring maintenance is critical and I use silicone grease for that.

For my mod o rings a little juice keeps them from binding and getting out of shape when tightening down.

Gah! I already cleaned it with the alcohol mix. It was only once. What do you recommend the everyday Joe use to clean it next time? Unflavored juice?
