The tape is a top notch suggestion - worked well for me, not having the most dexterous or steady hands on the planet.

Question; how would you go about cleaning a ReadyXWick nickel build for temperature control, given you shouldn't glow your Ni200 wire? I would think running water and a toothbrush, but any other suggestions?

The toothbrush will disintegrate the RxW. Unfortunately the only way to clean RxW is to burn it. If you could get it out of the coil you could torch it... The problem there is you have to get it back into the coil and that is no easy task. After the RxW has been used and torched it becomes brittle so to say and not easy to work with. That is why it's suggested to dry burn it when you clean your coils.

I run just slight larger(.0042") with a #40 drill bit blank to make coils for 3mm

More flow, more juice…huh?

Coil diameters are to RxW like a choke is to a spigot. More choke, more spray. Less choke is more, is all. LOL

You can dial up the balance between diffusion and density (at whatever power range) with linear ceramic wicking.

It's a beautiful thing, just sayin'.

:D

Good luck all.

I've gotten so lazy. It's been well over two months since I wrapped a coil. First try was horrible, it's like I lost the muscle memory. I might start spacing out the build fest instead of doing all my RBAs at one time, so I stay in practice :blush:

That is how I was on the dragon coil. I have a 3ml bottle of .9ohm 1/16 28ga coils that I wrapped a long time ago. So when I went to wrap a new coil yesterday I had to stop and think about it. These REO and RxW have made me a very lazy vapor.....but I like it.

A wind a day keeps the postman at bay;

To wind delay, means the end of pay day.

Good luck all!

Ordered couple of ' today. Tried Nextel when it came out & ekowool a few times, liked flavor of cotton & mesh better. By your accounts & the 240 mostly positive reviews on site thinking this RxW is worth a go.

I tried the Nextel way back when as well before RxW came out.
The RxW performs better and is kiln treated at a higher temp than the old Nextel. I love it and would not consider any other wicking material. I like the fact that it's virtually indestructible once placed and I feel secure that I will not be out and about and have a wicking issue. I can be mindless and not think about not squonking and burnt wicks, amount of wicking material, keeping wet etc. I like hoople proof! :) Just my opinion of course.

Yes to all that you said. A caution - it took me several tries and much frustration wicking into the coil when I started using it. Now, it is very easy to use, but patience may be necessary at the start. I ended up using a coil form larger than I use now just to get the hang of the wick process; I am glad I stuck with it.
