I finally got around to building w/ readyxwick & must say I'm digging it! The coil jig at 2.5 mm + 3 mm readyx is a great combo. So far I'm most impressed by the flavor, clean strong goose juice tones keep the pallet purring.

Hmmm i miss rxw. Problem is, I have a 28g twisted TMC running KGD that im attached to... (.3-.4ohms) and these current coils just arent positioned right to throw some 2mm rxw in there... but i have some 3mm, and getting the woodvils soon, so i can use my extra nuppins
anyone got a killer setup of dual twisted with the 3mm? pics would be appreciated... last time I tried it, i tested the coils with kgd before throwing some 3mm rxw in... I had too many wraps... i think it was 7 wraps around a 2.5mm rod. Slow heatup @ 0.7ohms... I wanna shoot for .3-.4 ohms... so probably 4 wraps?
RxW is now going to be available in Jumbo size 3.5 outer diameter and 1/8" inner core. Just announced on website. They are taking a poll to see who has interest before going into production.
Just FYI![]()

Hi Mac,Drop your wire gauge b4f and maintain your surface area. RxW is ceramic, it'll disperse heat more efficiently than any organic but it's got to absorb it first. It'll act as an insulator at first before it becomes the baking pan. Once it does, inside a second, it makes very good use of the energy it takes in. For 3mm I roll 8-turns, 24awg on 2.5mm for about .3Ω. Produces like a ,2-.225 build with a temp feelin' more like 4.0Ω. You could try 8 or 9 counts of 26 or 27 if the .3Ω sounds a bit warm to you. But put the wire on the wick b4f, as much as you can. Nextel loves it.
Good luck.

Hi Mac,
What is your opinion on the difference in performance, flavor and heating properties between doing a single wire coil vs. twisted wire coil? I'm interested in your scientific insights! Advantage of one over the other?

I, too, am interested.
Love that paragraph Matty. Yep, shake it up it is. Turn the problem on it's head and look at it's bottom. LOL
t.m.c.'s are all about strain and what that means to temp. The t/l par is my go to these days as I transition out of t/pair, my mainstay these past two years. In gen I like cool control and clouds on demand. So the straight up build is .3Ω 24AWG. The TLP's I've done have been targeted at the 70% or avg Kay/tank user who's ideal is somewhere in the 15-25W range. These days more convinced than ever that strain's a tool that can keep 'em happy regardless what they wind. But you're right simple and elegant often demands more attention.
Your coil build diameter needs to be either smaller or bigger. For 2mm go with 1/16" drill bit or 16g luer needle. For 3mm needs larger than 2mm coil, slightly larger. Maybe someone will chime in that uses 3mm wick as I use 2mm in all my atties. If you use 28g at 7/8 wraps on a 1/16 dill bit or 16G luer it will be around 1 ohm.Morning folks! I just got some ReadyXwick and I haven't tried it yet. I have the 2mm and 3mm and my build on my RM2 is a single coil built with 28g on a 2mm Kuro coiler. Will RxW work on this build? I have only wicked my new REO twice so I don't want to mess it up!
