Hey Guys, Can someone please help me out in explaining the Super COncentrated Flavorings by Real Flavors? Are they VG or PG based? They recommend usage at 1-2.5%, Dopes that mean these are not stand alone flavors? Can I use them as standalone,
Im used to making large batches at once, i,e 100ml because my daily consumption is alot, Would the flavor will come out same say I use 2% for a 100ml?

See the previous post by me where I quoted the owner of RF as to the flavor carriers:

@leftyandsparky

The SC flavor carrier is:

Walt_RealFlavors

It is very rarely PG, if it is, it is a very small amount (under 1%). I think that is only in 2 flavors as well.

The liquid you see is a mix of VG, PDO, or a different carrier like distilled water. (with the 3% alc in that), that is what Alcohol base is. We are working on getting the specific gravity listed on ALL flavors soon

Many of them work great as standalone flavors (french toast, bread pudding, pancake, pumpkin pie, etc) though I personally usually mix them at 3.5% total flavoring whether doing a single flavor one shot mix or a recipe of multiple flavors. I have seen others make recipes with these at 2% or under, and others I have seen mix them as high as 7%. It all depends on the specific flavor(s) and users/mixers preference for flavor so testing whatever you buy is suggested to determine what % you want to use them at since these are a fairly new line with not a lot of info out there as to preferred percentages in mixes or single flavors.

Okay Great, sorry if im acting unreal here but what are their best and strongest Flavorings?
Btw. On their super concentrates its says 1-2.5%, ive read the replies up but cant figureout if people have used their ownpercentages on RFs Vg line or the super concentrates. Im thinkig of buying their super concentrates mainly because If what they say is true, i can mix them at 2.5% and itll be very economical for me.

Vg based flavorings take long to develope their full flavor after they've been mixed. Whether as a single flavor mix, or as part of a recipe, it may take as long as a month for the true flavor to emerge. The percents you end up using will depend on your tastebuds & how they perceive the flavor. The percentages given on the site are a starting point. Start with that amount, taste each flavor separately to see how it tastes to you. You might have to use more or maybe less. The phrase 'taste is subjective' is repeated over & over in the diy community. Everything tastes a bit different to everyone. For instance, I can taste cinnamon even in very miniscule amounts & don't like it in my juice. I love to eat it, but I can't vape it. If cinnamon is in a mix, I literally cannot taste anything but cinnamon, not fruits, not breads. Nothing but cinnamon. But there are fruits that I have to go higher than the recommended amount. Start with the recommended % & raise or lower it accordingly. As you add other flavorings as a recipe you might change that % depending on what you want the primary flavor to be.

I test all single flavors based on what others suggest here, on other forums and the recipe site which cant be mentioned. The recommended percents used to say 1 - 3.5% on their site so 3.5% is usually where I end up when mixing. Their cheesecake is super strong/sour. Other strong ones are meringue, nutmeg, condensed milk, souffle. The only way to know as said above is to get something that sounds good and test it.

A single flavor mix of something like french toast or bread pudding at 3.5% means I can make 850ml of finished juice from a 30ml bottle for a total cost, including nic (2mg) and pg/vg, of $12.71, or even less if/when I start buying my fave flavors in 4oz bottles.

So I've got Rice Pudding and Carrot Cake. The Carrot Cake has a very strong smell...haven't worked up the courage yet. I've tried the Rice Pudding at 2%. It's...jaja, I don't know how to describe it. Milk?

Anybody got any wizardry for Rice Pudding?
I have both of these but haven't tried them yet. Your review of RP is similar to what I saw on ELR. It sounds like it won't be a good stand alone flavor and will need some helpers to work up a recipe with it.

Just received from RF today; blue raspberry cotton candy, watermelon and blue moon ice cream. All vg. Anyone have experience with these particular flavors? Suggested use is 8-12%. Is that what you used?

I haven't tried those specific flavors, but the vg ones i got had around the suggested %,and i had to go 15%+ to get even close to tasting them,i gave up on a couple, and bumped others up to around 20%,then had to let them steep a month or more.

I'm curious too. It's next on my list to try after i finish the bread pudding, but the smell of the concentrate kinda scared me,so i'm leary of putting it in my tank haha.

I have never had a souffle so wasn't sure what to expect but I like it and it will get used in recipes going forward. I tested it at 2%, avg mix % for recipes on that other site is 0.8%.

Btw, my order came with a 10% off coupon with code SAVE10

I have used both blue raspberry cotton candy and blue moon ice cream. I was happy with 10% for both of them with the (many times mentioned) long steep.

Do you have a favorite of those two?

My favorite of the two is blue moon ice cream. I put it almost up there with the strawberry milkshake which is my absolute favorite of theirs (so far-I still have a ton I haven't gotten around to since I'm the only person I mix for). I like these two so much that I went ahead and ordered the 4 oz of both of them along with the free super concentrates a while back. Blue razz cotton candy is good but I want to put it up against the plain blue razz just to see which one I happen to like better.

Same here, never had a real souffle, but i'm definitely getting anxious to try the juice.I mixed mine at 2% also, and it's been steeping pretty close to a month.I should be getting to it tonight or tomorrow to give it a try.
