Really harsh hits

Hi guys,
I am very new to vaping (have been smoking cigarettes for about a year now) so I don't know much about it. Just got my first vape (eleaf ijust 3)
So I primed the coil and filled the 2ml tank with juice and let it sit for 45 mins. So as I take my first hit it is sooo harsh to the throat. And I don't understand why. It doesn't taste burnt or anything. So I thought I may had a defect coil so I got the other one and primed it filled the tank and again waited for about 45 mins. As I take my first hit again directly welcomed with the harsh feeling in my throat even when I hit it from a small distance.
Can someone please help me?

The eLeaf site states this model is capable of up to 80 watts. What is the resistance of your coils?
My first suspicion is that you're using too much power. Try cutting way down, and slowly increase until you find a level that you like.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What is the resistance rating of the coil you are using?

What is the mg strength of the juice you are using?

If you are using the coils that came with the kit, that means you are using a 0.2 or 0.15 ohm coil. this means that you are running at the full 80 watts the device allows.

This means you will have a pretty hot vapor.

Any nic mg 8mg or above will likely be harsh, but possibly even 6mg would he harsh, too.

Even if you get rid of the harshness by changing your juice or the mg strength, you will still have a hot vapor. If that does not suit you, you will need to find higher ohm coils. if there are no higher ohm coils for that, you will need to get a different tank that you can buy higher ohm coils for, like 0.5 ohm or higher.

This kit, in general, may be a bad fit for you. Better to get something offers more adjustability using buttons, not just by changing your coil.

If you prefer a mouth to lung (MTL) draw (you know, like you smoke a cigarette), this isn't the best setup for that. I suggest you look into the Innokin Kroma-R mod with the Innokin Zlide tank for MTL.

Or you could just get the Innokin Zlide tank for now and use the 1.2 ohm coil for it. The 1.2 ohm coils will allow you to vape at around 11-15 watts on that Ijust battery. MUCH cooler than 80 watts!

I am using the 0.2 ohm coil with a 6 mg juice. The juice I'm using is the el patron explosivos.

I've inspected both my coils and they seem to be just fine. I see no burnt parts and the one I'm using is fully saturated but still Im getting like idk cottony unpleasant hits. Its really unpleasant for the back of my throat not my lungs.
You definitely can change the wattage. If you've got the instructions read through to see how!

You may have the wattage locked. Try clicking the fire button three times quickly and look for a little padlock on the screen :)

I can't change the wattage on this vape so I think I'm using the full 80 watts.

Just watched a couple of videos and you can't change the wattage on this device, does seem odd but yeah that is the deal.

So i got no idea what could be wrong, apart from a faulty coil i got nothing, you said you let it steep in before you use it so that can't be it.

Kinda odd that they released a mod with no way to change the wattage *shrug*

Instruction manual here and no mention of being able to change the wattage, same thing for both reviews i have watched in youtube.

I think it might be the juice I'm using cause its on both coils and they are very different.

I think I'm dry hitting because the flavor is not really there but it doesnt taste very burnt I think.
No, a dry hit tastes like burnt cotton. You'll know a dry hit when it happens. I think the issue here is, and you said it, your first hit was pretty rough. That's because you're inhaling something that 1) isnt cigarette smoke and 2) something you've never inhaled before. It takes a bit to get used to. I would not recommend DL as a starting point for a new vaper.
