I skipped over the mechanicals, eGo and little stuff when I jumped head first into vaping and directly to Kanger ProTank 3's on Vamo 5 VV/VM mods. Since, I've gone even farther from that into the area of rba drippers and kayfun clones.

Research all you can stand to read about this stuff, then spend however much it takes to quit smoking. Throw out your best friends' and vape store owners' opinions and disregard any budget. Only then can you be successful and satisfied.

Danderdude ... Aus (Sydney) doesn't seem to have any vape stores ... perhaps due to the fact that nicotine juices are illegal to sell??

I have just had a notice that my Kanger EVOD will be delivered today (less than 15 hours after my order it looks like) BUT .. I have no juice ... how's that for frustration?? ...lol

I can see myself getting really into this .. and y'all aren't helping .. it's like a fet site! :p

Stange situation. Odd that you can't buy ejuice there but importing it is allowed. Dunno what the rationale for that is, but it sounds a little nutso to me. I guess that's a politically feasible way to avoid the question of whether it needs to be regulated, though.

Seems like you'll have to order ejuice waaayyyy ahead of time, but at least you'll be able to get replacement hardware easily. I guess you should just count your blessings...

Are there any restrictions on vaping? We were just discussing it a couple of nights ago and Australia is on our list of potential places to visit. Frankly, however, if I can't vape there it will come off the list no matter what my wife thinks. (Well, off of MY list anyway.)

Jumpin' in ... as far as I know there are no restrictions in Australia except for in Queensland which has (and always does have some weird-... ..... going on ..lol)

I have no idea about the 'illegal to sell but legal to buy' loophole nonsense ... ppfftt ... makes no sense whatsoever.

If it is any consolation, I have heard nothing about vaping being an issue anywhere but in QLD so you should definitely come over!

I was trying to post a pic from my native state over west but I don't seem to be able to do that yet ..

there are vaping stores in Sydney (can't remember where off the top of my head though). There's also an Aussie Vapers Forum. I live in QLD now (you're right - there are weird-... goings on here, no daylight saving yadda yadda yadda) and I don't think vaping is illegal per se but they recently had a crack down in Hervey Bay on people selling nic juice - apparently it's the capital of illegal nic juice trading, who knew? All this time I thought nothing happened in Hervey Bay.

And let's not mention the pumpkin scones! :p

Glad to hear it ... just don't forget SW Western Aus - best beaches in the world (and cheese, and wine ... yum!)

We'll have to see about that, I guess. We've got some pretty nice beaches here too. :)

Actually, we both grew up with beaches all around us, so spending time on beaches is not really a priority when we travel. thanks for the info, though!

Now cheese and wine, on the other hand....:D

The advice given by a lot of the other posters seems pretty spot on. I have both the evod starter kit, and then moved on to the pro tank mini's with an MVP2 and haven't regretted any of it.

The MVP2 while being a bit bigger, has a huge advantage in that it lasts for ages, whereas the original ego batteries that came with the evod kit need recharging quite quickly. I usually use the MVP2 and carry one of the ego batteries as a back-up in case the MVP2 runs out of charge.

The evods are great, but I moved up from them to protank mini and then on to things like the Kayfun, but that is a whole other world where there is a lot more messing about. The protanks are just basically a better evod (glass rather than plastic, easier to clean etc), and can be used exactly the same way.

The real trick to this though is to plan ahead. Usually with things like juice or new kit it takes time to get it, sometimes days, sometimes weeks so make sure you have enough sitting on your shelf to cover you while you wait, otherwise you will find that you are heading back to ciggies.:(

Everything I tried in the past 3+ years leaked in some manner or another until my latest setup.

eGo C Twist with MT3 Evod cartomizer that has a Pyrex tank and metal casing. Batteries are $19-$25 and cartos (with replaceable wicks) are $4-6 varying on dealer.

I have had two cartos for over 6 months and neither one has had any problems or needed any more attention than refills and a wick change.

Previously I was using c4/5 clearomizers and I wouldn't even have a chance to change the wick and reuse the clearo before it began leaking. :p
