I've had my Prodigy for only a couple of weeks, and for the past couple days the batteries need to be swapped out more often.

How long should a battery take a full charge before it starts to crap out, anybody know? Puresmoker's out of 'em right now, so I ordered 6 plus a spare charger from Amazon (sorry, MUST HAVE vape) but I thought the originals would've taken a full charge for longer.

'Course, on the batteries themselves, it does say "DO NOT overcharge." I've been leaving one set in the charger until they're needed... perhaps that is seriously not a good idea and I wonder if that has shortened their life. Thoughts/observations on that?

Leaving them on the charger is no problem and will not affect their performance or longevity. I have found the same thing, however with two sets of these batteries. I think some are just defective. I did buy a couple of non-rechargeable rc123a 3.0 volt photo batties as a back up and they do work fine. Someone on here said he got about 9 hours of vaping from some of these. If you order $25 worth (10 of them) of the supplied rechargeable batteries from All Battery.com and use the code "tenergydeals", you get free shipping which is an $8 savings.

I think puresmoker should provide some information on the longevity of the batteries under different use categories so their customers can know what to expect.

I think that my original set of batteries also are starting to lose steam (i.e., need to be recharged more often).

All-Battery also has a special on the rechargable batteries: a kit containing 6 Tenergy batteries with charger and car plug for $27. [These are the same batteries and charger that came with our Prodigy.]

That extra charger is probably a good idea. I'll be ordering that kit soon. You see, I live in South Florida. As soon as I hear that a hurricane may be threatening (which means loss of power, sometimes for days), I'm going to charge up all 10 batteries. Should last me for... Gosh! Maybe I should order some of the non-rechargable batteries too.

wv2win, are these "Tenergy Propel CR123A Lithium Battery with PTC Protected" the ones to which you were referring?

I find that some days the batteries run out quickly and then other days it seems as if they'll never run out of juice. Cant explain it.

Hi Curtis, this was happening to me too. Then I read about the charger needing the little prongs on the charger being bent up a bit. Seems that my green light was coming on before the batteries were totally charged. I have to bend the little prongs up on the neg. end about every three days. Sometimes my light will be green and when I wiggle the batteries, the red light will come back on. Since I have been paying attnetion to this, my batteries last about 6 to 8 hours and I vape heavy.

Just a suggestion :) Have a great weekend.

Interesting. I did pry up my tabs after I also noticed the light would change color as I wiggled them around. However, since then I haven't had that problem. Yet, I haven't bent them up since. Perhaps I should. Thanks Puff. Great name/avatar btw. Is that you?

Hey, thanks for that prong info! Mine were bent way down... but the last set of batteries I charged seem OK, at least the charger goes red and then immediately turns green when I reinsert them.

I got 6 rechargeables plus a spare charger (same brand, Tenergy) from Battery Superstore, for $27 + $5.45 shipping. Spare charger can live at my office.

And Don, thank you as well... I live in Tampa and had not thought ahead to hurricanes and power outages. So far, knock wood, I've never been caught, but it would BITE to lose power and suddenly realize I had a finite span of vaping hours left. I never envisioned a need for that car charger. D'oh!

Don, thanks for the link for the batteries. I just got an email from Amazon saying mine were on backorder. Dont have hurricanes here but get lots of snow here in the mountains, last winter over 5 feet. Lose power too.

So 26 batteries at thousands of charges each should outlast both you and the Prodigy.

It looks like the 4 batteries I have are not lasting for thousands of charges, at least not at anywhere near peak performance. They've gotten maybe one charge per day for a little over 2 weeks, and vaping time has gone way down with all 4 originals, so some are getting more than one charge per day now.

That's what I want to get an idea of... how long SHOULD these be lasting/ARE they generally lasting? Maybe no one really knows, in this application. Don't suppose it's that important as long as I have spares, though I'd like to know if I got defective batteries, or if perhaps there's some über-reliable brand of batteries out there for this.

LOL, I wish! See Shan123's post above. I'm beginning to see that these batteries aren't lasting as long and that's after only 18 days of use rotating the 4 (using 2 at a time) batteries in the charger/Prodigy.

Each time I'm charging I seem to be getting just a little less use. For the first few charges they lasted a long time, now it seems every few days I'm getting maybe an hour less use out of the charge.

Maybe it's just me, but that's why I placed another order for some.

I, too, suspect it is your charger. I have also had to pull up the bottom contacts to make sure the batteries fit tight when they charge.
And since there is only one light on the charger, one battery can be charging, the other *not* charging, and the charge light will come on, and then turn green. Because the 2nd battery isn't making good contact. I have started taking them out one at a time, making certain the remaining battery is in there good and tight, and then waiting for the light to show green on each one individually before I put them in the prodigy. I'm going to see if I can find a charger that isn't so hinky, I think.
