Well like the title said i received some salvaged 18650 battery's

I have 3 types:unsure:

Pink Samsung ICR18650-26CSDI7B3
Green (unknown stamps on batteries say: MOLI FSPE. 70043.2433 42 ICR-18650H MADE IN CANADA)
Red (Unknown stamps on batteries say: B JAJFH35060417

Anyway they were salvaged so they were once wired in series so I am going to a local store that sells batteries (i have purchased an 18650 their once but as you would guess they sell standard sized batteries mostly the only reason they have 18650s because they are used in laptop batteries) I have yet to find any other size i needed from them but this is my idea

Now if its worth the trip (not far but far enough to post ask ask opinions on it) I want to go down their and see if he will test them for me and see if they are useable (for my situation) if not maybe i can sell them to him (if they work) now The solder and wires are all removed although i don't have the stones to just pop them into my ONLY mod or my ONLY charger.

So has anyone else had experience with batteries like this? Would anyone know if i Google it i will get any info (i guess asking is soopid cause I'm gonna after i post lol.) If you know a site other than Google for this link me:) ill be your best friend LOL

Now since they have been wired in sequence I bet some will work better than others so i suppose any that still hold a full charge are worth keeping shoot at retail price they are worth like $100 total if they were all new and worked lol

Since they are ICR batteries i think they might work out after testing.

Any opinions on the subject???? Should i waste my time with them or not? What would you do? If it does work out i know i got a 12 cell laptop battery in the garage i might gut if this type of thing is safe.

I am not an expert, but I have heard nothing but horror stories about these sorts of situations. Batteries are not super cheap, but certainly 7 to 10 bucks is better than the potential safety hazard you have if you use questionable batteries. Like someone else said on another thread like this, you are putting something that could potentially explode inches from your face.

I gutted a laptop cell pack and used the good cells for e-cig mods. Two vented on one occaision (series/not stacked). The cell pack that the donors were dissected from was not servicable for the laptop.

All this said, I would suggest having the cells checked, professionally. If they get a good bill of health... vape on!

It's a gamble to use these batteries since they are unprotected though I have to admit I have been using them on my mods when I'm at work. Even though my mods have safety features like a venthole I still have be wary when using them or charging them. I use the batteries which have not been discharged under 2.6 volts. I had to run tests on them during and after charging to see if they heat up or lose a few volts after charging. You can use them in mods that have built in protection but in unprotected mods the risk of failure increases. Be sure to test them thoroughly if you plan on using them and dispose the one's that didn't pass in a proper manner. It's up to you if you want to take the risk.
