Well, scratch the SB... apparently the switch isn't user-serviceable. I swear, I'm just gonna pick up some batteries, start drawing up some schematics, and build my own. It can't be much harder than building my guitar was.

And there you have it. One way to fix your own if it ever does break is making them yourself.. Check out the mod forums here and you will get all the help you need if you need any with the great how to threads in there.
Once you make one the rest are simple. If you can solder or want to learn how to. There are even basic no solder involved mods in there.

Suggested Mods?

Well, you really can't go wrong with Lu or SunV. After you have more experience with Mods you can try out j0ker. Not matter what though, I would stay away from the Angus and Elendil's, they can be trouble! :D
Elendil is the clearly the most colorful mod.:D

My soldering iron is right next to me on my workbench. I also have one of these as a hand-me-down from my dad (I remember it's a Weller, IIRC it's pretty similar to this):

The only thing I've been considering all night is what I would want to use as a case (has to be tool-less for opening, probably a box) and if I want to do something crazy, like a battery holder that will do two of those 18650s in parallel for about 4000-5000 mAhs of vaping goodness...

Edit: MastiffMike, what kind of batteries does your j0ker take? ;-)

Oh my That`s a nice soldering Iron. :p

I put 18650 in the search box for the forum and got this
18650 mod - Google Search

I don`t know what size copper pipe all comes in but this one holds a 14500 battery and I think it looks sweet.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
The j0ker he's referring to is a moderator on here, not the battery mod.

:lol: I know. I skipped right over the first two names, there is a mod out there called the joker... as soon as he said Angus and Elendil I looked back and realized it said j0ker not joker. If he said SunVaporer right away I would have clued in a lot faster. I still would have cracked the joke. ;)

I have MS and I very seldom see people for weeks at a time. That is one reason I joined this forum. I have been here since November and the only friends I have are suppliers. Read the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Color me gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Has to work with 901 attys and KR8 cartos
  2. 3.7V, highest mAh I can get
  3. button has to be in a sensible area (not as an endcap) and should be flush to the body/have some way to keep it from going off accidentally (preferably without a fiddly kill switch)
  4. I know none of these things are milspec, but as durable as possible. I work in an environment that may expose the unit to rain, heat, snow, and a few hard knocks on occasion as a result of detaining an unwilling person.
  5. Preferably won't break the bank.
Thanks in advance. Here's hoping for the mod of my dreams! :D

Ok... you want a MOD that takes an 18650 battery with the button on the side. You didn't say that small size mattered much.

* Precious L (smallest of the bunch i think)
* GGTS (most expensive of the bunch i think)
* Silver Bullet
* The Chuck
* Saber Touch
* Bulli Extreme

If you're willing to give up on some battery capacity, there are many smaller options that take 14500 or 16340 batts, but that's a sizable step down in capacity. 901/808 compatibility... see the adapters at madvapes.

Buzz at notcig.com. It has adjustable voltage so when you decide to step up to higher voltage mod you already have it. It will work with 510, 901, 801, 808, etc. They will be out any day.

The variable voltage looks real curious on this one.

Sorry...we don't travel on the same threads + I haven't been on the forum much lately or I probably would have friended you by now. I'm not a mind reader, as I am sure most people on here aren't. You need to give people a chance.

You have to realize that if you go back and add stuff in an edit that people may have already read your post and aren't reading it again after the edit. Also get in on the contest threads and chat with people. I was on here for some time before I really made friends on here. Those contest and chat threads are a good place to get to know people. Check out the Saber Touch thread. There's lots of nice people that chat on there and Sir gives out deals on his mod in that thread.:)

Good advice... I'd also add the PIF (Pay It Forward) threads tend to have some decent people as do the Chuck/Thag-built forums (though they tend to be a little more "racy" :D)

When I joined I didn't post for over 2 months and I don't think I made my 10 post until my fourth month. (I think I've made up for my slow start since though!!) Sometimes it takes a while to get to know people (and when they change avatars I still get confused!!! 8-o). Hang around, I personally guarantee you'll get more out of these forums than you put in (note to lurkers - but you do have to put in!).

BTW, my personal guarantee is as solid as belly button lint! :pervy:

:(I hope you all got my messages ok! Not real sure if I did it correctly.
First time and all. Nice to be a vigin at something again.

If not I told you all that I was sorry for being an ...:oops:

The real reason I have been upset is because my son never called or came over to see me on mothers day. I am still smarting from that.

So please forgive me for being so overly sensitive which I usually am not. unless it comes to my children.

He only lives 15 mins away from me. Boy is he gonna get it:evil:
