Recommended Drip Rebuildable Atomizer

Hey guys, so i'm looking into getting a drip style rebuildable atomizer and have been looking into the IGO-L (per some posts here that's a pretty good option). Thing is, i was wondering if there are other comparable and highly recommended products that are within the same price range.

I've been getting sick of rebuilding the clearos (have a protank and EVOD), their coils take a little more work to rebuild...

Any suggestions?

I'm less than a week with my IGO-L, and I just ordered 3 more today along with an IGO-S.

It's all I've been using since I got it, because just like you, rebuilding Vivi Nova heads was starting to get on my nerves. The IGO-L is much easier to work out. I'm sure there are other great ones, but I just wanted to share how this one's been treating me.

Everyone will have their favorite based not just on what they do like, but also on what they don't like.

I don't like an atty that breaths through a side hole ... they leak all over everything if you don't hold it right. So for that reason alone I like the A7 which breaths through the bottom like a conventional atty .... but they leak if you overfill them ....

Besides the IGO-L, S, and the Smok Octopus, you might want to take a look at one of the Phoenix clones or a Pegasus. The Phoenix clone is inexpensive and the Pegasus is about the same price as an IGO-L.

It just gets too hot being so close to the coil and with so little room for vapor expansion. The center insulator is too large, so that if your coil is anywhere near it (and it's easy to do in such a small device) it can burn/melt. It likes to leak in a pocket unless you vape it pretty much dry each time.

Otherwise, it does vape well.

I forgot one other reason I don't use it much: the posts are chrome-plated mystery metal, probably brass (it looks gold if you scratch off the chrome).

I don't mean to dissuade you from using one, just pointing out reasons I no longer do.

+1 for the Smoktech RDA's, sometimes called "octopus" because of the eight legged wicks. They're cheap, they have a lot of room for your fingers, the posts have holes drilled out for wire to pass through, pre-coiled wicks are readily available if you don't want to coil them yourself, and they're cheap.

Ive had phoenix type rebuildables but theyre so damn small, especially the phoenix. Requires a tightly wound wick and lots of dexterity with the fingers. I think the Smoktech RDA is closer to an Igo-L as far as rebuilding. I wish the IGO-L had holes in the post for wire to pass through, but that's a different thread.

If overfilled, the Smoktech RDA will gurgle because there is a vent hole on the "floor" of the atomizer, under the coil. If you just hold the mod with the air hole facing away from you and up a bit, the gurgling will reduce or stop completely.

Yeah, I can see how they thought it might have been pretty neat to have the air flow directly beneath the coil on the Octo, but IMO, it's a design flaw, what with the gurgling. Especially on a dripper... and even more so for one who likes to use ss wick instead of silica. It's only becuase I have a gargantuan ss wick that I can keep the gurgling at bay... somewhat. Air flow directly beneath is good for an Oddy style, not so much for a dripper. I know it doesn't make better vapor than my Igo L, so it's not like it's a winning design. I think they'd be better off just putting the air hole in the cap to line up with the coil and get rid of the one on the deck. I know a few guys have done just that, offset from the stock cap-hole so it doesn't line up with the reciprical hole on the side of the deck. But they're still probably leaking a little juice down the hole and having it collect between the cap and the side deck o-rings... wasting juice.

Wyvern Rebuildable Atomizer from Discount Vapors. I got one of these in the mail Today. I'm using the stock coil. it meters out at 4.5 ohms. I'm using a 3.7 volt KTS telescope from the same vender. I like them both. I have been reading a lot of posts for sub 1.0 ohm resistance, I have some other Rba's that are coiled at various ohms some are great vapor makers some just so so.
I guess I'm missing the boat or I'm just not hard to please. I vape them all and enjoy what they give me. I read the reviews on the venders web site and it was mentioned sometimes the air hole can get occluded by the wick, has"nt happend to me yet. Looks and acts like a pheonix but to me it is way better. Just my 2 pennies.

I don't understand how a 4.5 ohm coil can give the same results as a 1.7 coil. or some even lower.

IMO you can't go wrong with an IGO-L. It performs as well as the many high end drippers. Its easy to setup and easily allows for different types of setups: silica, SS mesh, SS mesh hybrid. Just my .02

Its right about the thickness of the ego, maybe ~14mm. Very easy to rebuild and maintain. Not a lot of room but will hold a lot of juice in its reservoir "cup". Bottom base has a grip to aid separation from device or top cap. Top cap is threaded with an o ring, air hole lines up with coil every time, and both posts are insulated. Only place it will leak is out of the airhole or driptip, bottom is sealed as with most RDAs. I own an IGO-L and S, Smoktek RDA, Octopus along with a few i dont even have real names for i picked up from various shops and vapebash. My daily go to Rebuildable dripper is the phoenix(sometimes called the Bully) mostly due to the thread on top cap.

The two negatives i have are the tip is a bit tight for most driptips, but i found one that works perfectly. Secondly the positive post will slip when you overtighten it on some mods. I dont pull the positive post i remove the top cap and push that post back down into the base. Both are easily resolved.

I'm digging the AGI in dripper mode. Aesthetically, I think it looks better than the IGO-L and it gives you the versatility of using it Genesis style should you ever want to go that route.
