This video is taking forever to load on my stoneage internet connection.. For the record though, I've heard nothing but good things about the ZAP in these forums, though I know absolutely nothing about them.. other than from what I've heard I think I'm too lazy to use RBAs... maybe this one isn't as bad as I've heard from others about other RBAs..? I'll find out in like 45 minutes when the video is done caching LOL

I got my vivi novas in today... no luck. LOL.. tanks are working beautifully with the new cartos, but no matter what, I'm getting burnt wick taste from my vivi novas.. voltage is set right, followed the instructions on the web for filling them and changing out the heads.. but it literally tastes like a regular cartomizer that is bone dry.. any ideas on the cause?? LOL

I b*%^tched and moaned to no end when I first got my ProVari about the carto tanks.. and I've recently found out that was simply because I had a bad batch of cartos.. LOL.. with the new ones from Smoktech my tanks are working beautifully (and they're the stock poly tanks from Provape)..

I'm just having a hard time comprehending that the Vivi Novas are as popular as they are with a lot of people (I mean they came very highly recommended when I was thinking I was just missing something when it came to tanks)... but I KNOW I followed every instruction down perfectly, and I'm getting burning cotton/wick taste with a HINT of my liquid..

I was reading through the forums and another user had this problem, which he fixed by altering the heads of his. Granted, I'll admit I was excited about using the Novas and possibly working with the heads and whatnot after watching the ZATTY Pro video that Baditude and you posted.. thought maybe it would give at least a LITTLE bit of experience working with some of these things, but even the person who found a solution here in the forums admitted that its a crap solution that only works temporarily and he/she didn't recommend it. So how the he H*#L do these things have the following they do?? Do people not realize they're tasting burning cotton and/or wick rather than their liquid???

I don't have a clue! I read the same things you did, and jumped on board with them! Not for me at all!
I hear if you use SS mesh they get better, you do this and that, they get better. I don't know.
I have tried to rebuild one! I had to use a 6x eye loop to even come close to seeing what I was doing! It's not for the faint of heart!
I don't have any of the answers you seek, wish I did, but I couldn't get rid of mine fast enough!

yeah I just threw the 2.8ohm head on there thinking maybe I just had a bad head or something, but... nope still getting burnt tastes. I'll be emailing the retailer to see if anything can be done (doubtful) so if not I'll just chop these expensive pieces of junk up to a learning experience and move on. Should have just spent the money on some more tanks LOL.

And you're right actually, from the modifications I read that were necessary in order to get them hitting worth a flop, you might as well get into RBAs.. and if I thought I was ready for that I'd get a couple ZAPs with my next paycheck.. but I'm perfectly content with my tanks so I'll see if something can be done -reimbursement- wise on this junk and just stick to my tanks LOL

im convinced it has to be a tinkering thing...... people like to mess with stuff. as i said, ive had several rbas and gave them a pretty good chance..or myself alot of time and effort in learning them. ive tried the premade wicks and coils... i just dont like them at all. give me a nice tank with a carto and im good to go. ill never say never but i honestly dont think ill ever try an rba again. just not worth my time to mess with them even if they are/were a little better than cartos

I actually like my RBA's, I have a Trivveca and an AGA-T, both work very well for me, for the most part. But you have to fiddle with them, a lot! I took my Trivveca to the convince store last night, went to hit it, dry as a bone. I got home and had a stain on my shirt from where the juice leaked out! No more traveling with it!
I'm scared to travel with AGA, it leaks some when full, and I fear breaking or moving the coil then having to fiddle with it while out!

Are the RBAs that sensitive? I keep watching that video for the ZAP thinking "man... even I could do THAT.." lol.. But if I've got to stop and fiddle with it constantly (especially at work) then I'll save myself the like $150 lol.

I did want to ask though, where can you buy the replacement wire and mesh that you use with the Z Atty Pro in the instance you ran out?? Provape a site says you can buy it all there but I only noticed o rings and tanks...

I know the Nova is definitely not for me... don't like it at all. But just sticking in the mesh and then coiling the wire from screw, wrapped on mesh, then to the top screw.. That seems a breeze and everyone tells me the RBAs are best for adjusting and getting the flavor and TH that you're wanting... so obviously I'm interested simply because I'm still in that phase of finding what I like best on my Provari

There are lots of places to get the supplies, I normally go with okcvapes because they are close to me. You can get the wire off of Evilbay in bulk easily, the mesh is a bit harder, but a 12x12" sheet will make a LOT of wicks and I hear of people using the same wick for 6mos to a year!
The AGA-T I have, yes, it's that finicky! They seem to be notorious for that! Tighten the nuts too much, it freaks out, get it too far from the center connector, it freaks out. Etc..... I don't know how many travel out and about with them, that's actually a thread I plan to start tonight in the RBA section. I don't know anything about the ZAP, it's out of my reach right now, although I plan to get one sometime in the future and I hear it's much easier to work with.
I also have a Trivveca (Rainbow) dripping RBA, this thing is simple as simple and hits like a mother bear! I love it! BUT, I took it with me to the convince store last night in my shirt pocket. When I tried to hit it, dry as a bone! I got home and looked in the mirror, juice stain on my shirt! It had leaked out all the juice!
Just like everything else in vaping, you have to find what works for you and what doesn't. I like the RBA factor that I can, if I have to, get what I need to rebuild it local. And I'm not stuck at the dependency of a vendor to get what I want/like in stock!

I live in an town best described in O Brother Where Art Thou.. "A geographical oddity.., two weeks from everywhere." So it's concept of just having a bunch of backup supplies and being able to rebuild when needed, is rather appealing.

I'll more than likely pick one up when I order a backup ProVari next paycheck just to try out. I might hit you up asking for the links to those supplies for it if I can't find them when I get off work in a few hours lol!

I really thought RBAs were beyond my level of patience until watching that video and the vapor production on it looked incredible.. The more I watch it, the more I want to try one lol

I was going great with Boge cartos in a tank, until the whole Bogegate ordeal happened. Batch after batch of cartos were duds for me. Vivi nova worked much better, as long as I vaped horizontially...making sure the juice was getting to the atty. I'm now using RBAs, direct drip disposable attys and the Vivi when I'm being lazy and don't feel like rebuilding a coil.
