Happy Saturday to all! Seems like the first weekend in forever I have not been sick, overworked, or dealing with some holiday it's so NICE! My plans are to chill, do yoga and play with some new vapes and the husband. LOL. Here's hoping.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

I'm getting really more and more annoyed with autotune, especially the "speed up" feature, although I have discovered I can actually sing along (got perfect pitch it is not always s blessing) at the EXACT ACTUAL key the song was recorded at, and it makes things really "groovy" but not in a good way.

Autotune, in some cases, you allow a terrible band to sound good, and that's nice. But when you speed UP a terrible band they sound unrealistic and horrible. Keys are keys for a reason and we don't live in Japan, dude. I happen to think there is a natural harmony of the spheres, or ears, that happens in ACTUAL keys that have been around forever-- that is what your ear is USED to listening to.

I am considering a "this is autotune" piece, where I present the studio version and the live version, but I don't want to harm your love for certain bands.

While I think it's utterly adorable that some bands are willing to expose their "worst" to the world in live performances, well, it's charming in a way (Modest Mouse Coldplay (who actually RECORDED a whole ALBUM where there was the studio version, and then the live one, OMG it was horrifying) and a whole bunch of others, I am taking to you. I also find it dispiriting that many fans Don't Notice the difference.

I started listening to Sting for a charming change of pace and it was great, except I forget why I stopped listening to Sting, he is a FREAKING EAR WORM. While it's a lovely ear worm, like, if I never ear worm "Mad about you" again, I wouldn't mind. I may need to turn to rap, man.

Man. That was such a great album. I saw Sting perform it's tour live at the Merriweather Post Pavilion and it was the best.... Except there were very fat teenagers in front of us. I didn't mind that part, I was happy to stand up and jump up and down too... BUT THE CONSTANT SCREAMING.

OMG, I seriously considered punching them but anyone tasteless enough to obscure Sting's singing with their off key yenta SCREAMS... they were uncouth. You scream before and after the song, not DURING it. Also, yes you can sing... .if the artist invites you to. Jeez . I think mainly because I wanted to hear Sting Live at the Merriweather Post Pavilion! unobscured very much. Or, I mighta been sober by then, I don't remember. So, I was able to weight the possibility that they might punch me and/or a fuss would be made etc. and like, I didn't want to be ejected.

I did wish them death the entire freaking time though. Man this is making me want to listen. Hehe. Maybe during yoga.

I seem to be very opinionated about music today, man. How Autotune Works #1.

Holy CRAP this is BAD. Oh, Imgine Dragons singer, you are playing in an atual KEY and that's very nice. However, you are not even hitting the HIGH NOTES that you do on the studio version. God,. Also, sing in tune. You are being paid millions to sing and that means IN TUNE WOULD BE NICE.

This is the studio version. I get this is how the dude would LIKE to sing, but if you do something THAT intensely different than what the singer can DELIVER IRL????????? That's not cool.

I mean, he sings worse than Bono BEFORE Brian Eno made him get singing lessons. That is rather awful. I call

AUTOTUNE FOUL!!!!!!

See now this is SO MUCH BETTER-- it's autotuned to an extent and the dude is singing in his ranged and not as if is a toddler needing speech SERVICES. This, I can have some RESPECT FOR.. This is GOOD autotune. You can imagine the guy is actually singing in his range. Nicely done autotune..... And yeah, there are some sketchy moments, but like THAT IS HOW IT IS for a band--- there are sketchy terrible moments and like, that's fine. That's music.

Man, I think my favorite thing about this band is that the lead singer is unabashedly fat.

But, he's no Freddy Mercury or David Bowie, that's for dang sure.

Drugs. Lots and lots of them.

Don't get me wrong, it works my particular "sleep cocktail" but if I didn't have it, I'm fairly certain I'd be awake until someone came for me in white coats and then I'd be in a "safe" environment for a while until whatever doc freaking gave up on like, trying their own "cocktail" on me and just put me back on what worked.

It has happened that way before. I have "a little bit of insomnia" the way Niagra falls is "kind of a waterfall."

LOL
