Ed Sheeran may be a waste of space. but he can actually sing in tune. I have made a pledge to only listen to live music from now on, at least initially, because I don't want to be traumatized again like SO:

I was like, okay, it's in a key (mostly) and that's pleasant. I was like," probably not sped up" although sure, it is autotuned to perfection.

Only then I found THIS. LOL the HORROR.



It's only okay on autotune because they had to speed it up a whole key just for it to like, seem NORMAL. I MEAN...…. I get the production values aren't great but that does NOT excuse like, the singer's many faults. I am particularly not fond of his gaspy breaths in the wrong places and going from oversinging to undersinging. It's not GOOD. It's painful to WATCH.

Especially if you compare it to this live performance and not ONLY that, LOL they collaborated on it for like 45 minutes before taking it to the masses. I could be wrong but even if they you know, collaborated for year on it well that is still just fine with me.

I believe this version may or may not have been cleaned up a bit, sound quality wise, but it was before autotune EXISTED. etc.



Been listening to some live Sting and OMG not only is it good, I forgot he was the BASIST too.

Here is my complaint about autotune, man, once it exists there is NO going back. Because lets face it a Lot of people want to be famous, but a lot of them also suck. If, however, they are "marketable" in some fashion, they don't HAVE to be good at ALL. They just have to bring something "good" to the marketing table/know someone etc. Music is no longer a labor of love, it is a commodity.

And yes, mixing has been around forever, and if you are a studio geek of COURSE you are going to do what you can to make music sound better. It's just that if it's THAT different, this becomes a problem. You (I) actually get ANGRY about being duped. LOL I am starting to think Coldplay is a decent live band because they are only out of tune SOMETIMES.

It is no surprise that some of the famous artists are British: Ed sheran .Adele (I think) and not only that one Adele GOT big in her husky alto Motown fashion, her label or whomever IMMEDIATELY made her do an album where she is singing in a soprano pitch that is so out of her league, I fear for her voice box and it's like all of Taylor Swift's warbly soprano voiced nonsense and etc.

IT SUCKS.

I wish I liked jazz, probably best known for being like the music of the moment.

I'm actually considering following Phish even though they suck... but the can improvise. lol. I don't even think they are still together, possibly.
