It was called the day that shall live in infamy and it brought our nation to war. Today we remember December 7, 1941 and the attack upon US Naval Base Pearl Harbor by Imperial Japan. As we reflect upon the loss of life that day, let us not forget the heroism displayed by many ordinary men called to do extraordinary feats --
It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
Jeez I hope everyone has been well. It's a mad house over here. Well it's always a mad house just a bit more NUTS then usual. Only thing keeping me semi sane is waiting for my Black Friday goodies.
