When I was trying to get off the analogs I had bumped my nic up to 30mg for the craving moments. It got for a while there that I was vaping 30mg almost all day (18mg - 24mg the rest of the time). Now that I am off the analogs I decided to try lowering my nic all day and on my last batch I more or less averaged 20mg across the 4 bottles I mixed - been on the lower nic level for about 7 - 10 days now without a craving.

Today I was driving across town and found a leftover 5ml bottle with one of my 30mg mixes in it. I thought hmmmm why not finish it... It kicked my .... - 3 vapes and I felt the nic... I added a little VG to it when I got home. Great Vapor with the higher VG levels...

My point - you may have to raise your nic to get off the analogs, but you do not have to leave it there. You can reduce it and not miss it. I assumed that when I lowered my nic that I was taking the chance that the analog cravings would come back - they did not and I now know that I will be able to lower my nic again on my next batch as well (16mg probably)... and we will see how far I can go from there.

I heavily dilute my 24 mg menthol juice by mixing it with pg and vg and just adding menthol drops. I also add a few drops of tobacco absolute. I'm guestimating I'm bringing the nic down to perhaps below 10 mg and I don't miss it. I buy a 250 ml bottle of 24 mg e liquid & by mixing it lasts me 6 months or more. And don't get me started on the dual coil cartomizers! Since starting vaping almost 3 yrs ago, I've never had an atty last me this long while still performing great. And at 1.99 each.....& lasting 2 weeks to a month. Are u kidding? I've never even had one pop on my 3.7 v mod

I recently ordered juice for DIY. The vendor I was ordering from maxed out at 36 mg (I usually order 48 from elsewhere). Since I cut my base in 1/2 for DIY (48mg -> 24mg result) I cut the 36 mg to 18ish mg. Going OK so far.

So I agree. You can cut back. I just wouldn't do it too quickly. Give yourself time to get over the stinkies 1st.

I stayed at 36mg for over a year before dropping to 24mg and after about a week, the 24mg started to taste better than the 36mg. A few months ago I dropped down to 19mg and I really could tell the difference but within a month, I got used to it. I think I'm going to drop a few more mg next month but I've seen many people who were good at 18mg+ but couldn't get used to anything lower, so I'll play it by ear.

So how long does it take for the 'cravings' to go away?
I've been at this for a couple months and still have cravings for analogs on occasion.

I'm not hitting the 36 mg stuff as frequently but don't think I'm quite ready to lower the 24 mg stuff I'm usually vaping.

I used the 30mg for a few months. I reduced it for two reasons. While I still had cravings - they were infrequent and I could tell they were more habitual stimulation than a true craving and I felt I was building up a resistance to the 30mg. When I started on it I vaped maybe 1.5ml a day and I was getting up to 2.5ml - 3ml a day and most of it was 30mg. When I first cut - the cravings did not really come back, but I did increase to a solid 3ml a day. Now I am back down to 2.5ml and doing fine - putting more breaks in between my vapes - it is getting easier and easier everyday. I will get back down to 2ml easily and that is my goal. The only thing that will change that is if I change my equipment and it consumes more liquid - my frequency will go down though.

I think the key to reducing your nic levels without climbing the walls is to do it very gradually. I am talking 1-2 mg every 2 weeks or so. It took me 6 months to get to zero nic this way but was totally painless, never even noticed the drop in nicotine. To me it was more important to be sucessful than fast.

I started a year ago with 24mg. After 3 months, I reduced to 18mg. 2 months later down to 12. Got a lung infection and reduced my nic to 0 but wasn't satisfied. I've settled on 4mg nic. The 4mg of nic seemed to give me a more robust hit than 0nic. I also increased the flavor to double flavor for all my juices and a 70/30 pg/vg mix. This combination has worked for me perfectly. Nice flavor, great vapor and just enough nic to keep the juice from tasting flat.

I used 24 when I started. Every couple of months I lowered it down to the next level. I vape 6mg now, but I dont see me switching to zero. Problem is nicotine actually adds flavor to a lot juices, so they lose some of that flavor at zero.

I verify what you just said about the nic actually bringing out the flavor of the juice. At least that's been my experience.

The great thing about juice is it's easily customizable. Anything you have can be changed or altered, bumped up and reduced.
If I get a craving now, I'm thinking of juice, not analogs. And if I accidentally forget my pv or all I have left is lower nic juice, it is fine. Well, it's "fine-er". I don't go panicking like I did without cigs.

I started at 18mg 6 motnhs ago when I first quit analogs. I'm down to 1mg nic now... soon I'll be nic free. However, I do find myself chain vaping more now that the nicotine is almost non existant.
I agree with that. With 6mg I vape about 6mls a day average. I used to be about a 3ml a day vapor, but its not that big of deal for me. I prefer being at the lower level for two reasons. One its insanely easier to get very populer juice. Two I dont have very hard cravings. I could go a day without vaping with no ill effects.

Thanks for all the replies in this thread - it has made me notice something also. As I have lowered my nic I have been vaping more liquid each day. When I was vaping 30mg and 24mg I only vaped 1.5ml a day. Now that I am lowering it I am vaping 3ml - 4ml a day. I have got to think this one over for which is better. If we knew the levels of nic absorption from vaping I could do some math, but I am going to do some estimations with what I do know. I might just not want to keep going down in nic levels if it is going to continually increase my vaping requirements to stay satisfied. Hmmmmmm... Gotta think this one over...:glare:

I dropped QUICKLY from 24 to 12, now down to about 8mg. I think it had more to do with my chain-vaping. I vape the same amount regardless of nic level. I work from home, so sitting at my desk or the couch with that thing in my mouth constantly... I was OD'ing on nicotine. Even 8 is a lot some days.

Luckily BWB stocks 0mg versions of their juices - and my main vape Backo. I can buy high and low strength and cut it as I like. I used to vape a couple of Halo's juice a lot.... I have several 24mg bottles that i can't do anything with because Halo only offers 6mg minimum. Can't realistically cut the stronger stuff down to <10mg that way.
