Hi Folks.. Me again...

Part of my problem is I do not like nor can I handle heavy throat hit. Now I hope I am using the right term so I will describe.
Anything that causes a feeling in the back of the throat that is... to me warm heavy and scratchy.
I was a menthol ultra light smoker. So while I can enjoy some level of strong menthol the more traditional stuff can often be to strong.

For this reason I usually get a 30/70 PG/VG ratio when I can or even 100% VG, and sometimes its as simple as a 6-8 nic strength is good. But a 11 or 16 is harsh for me. Sigh....

So I have a lot of flavors I like (and I lot I hate right now) but they are to harsh. Compounded by the factor that currently I have a sore throat most likely due to chain vapeing as my nic strength is to low on a lot of the juices I enjoy. (I thought I was lower but I need something higher to help with the cravings)

Are there tricks of the trade so to speak to help with this? I have supplies (bottles/drippers/syringes/pg).
Sometimes I have 2 of the same flavor at two strength's like an 8 and a 16 and ill mix say 60/40 of them and its not bad.
But I only have that on the local flavors.

Thanks in advance.

Shy away from silica wicks. That might help, ever since I went to SS mesh (not for everyone but cotton should help as well) my throat hit is still there but it's not a scratchy, harsh hit. For me ditching the silica has opened up a whole new sensation as far as throat hit and flavor is concerned. Also if a vape is too warm you might want to look into a bottom coil delivery system instead of having the wick too close to your mouth which is what gives you a warm hit.

You failed to mention, at least in this thread, what juice delivery devices that you are using. More info would be helpful. Are you now using cartomizers? If so, what is the ohm or resistance rating? Single or dual coil?

I also prefer a more cooler vape. I use single coil cartomizers for a smoother less harsh vape. I also stay away from low resistance (1.5-2.0 ohm) cartomizers.

I also find that string-wicked delivery devices, such as clearomizers or vivi nova tanks can tend to give a harsh vape.

Try changing up the way you inhale your vape instead of lung hits try to hold it in your mouth longer like a cigar, the nicotine absorbs better through the mouth than deep hits vs analogs since the juices doesn't have like 4000 chemicals to shoot it from your lungs to your brain at internet-like speeds. This is something I'd like to suugest while you're searching for the best all day vape

RedhatPat made some good points that I would like to make just a little clearer.

The nicotine that is in the vapor that our e-cigs make is absorbed by our mouth and nose. It need not be inhaled for us to absorb the benefits of nicotine.

Suck on your vaporizer as if it was a straw in a milkshake...slow patient draws of 3-6 seconds. Hold in your mouth temporarily. Then either inhale, or exhale through your mouth and nose.

Additionally, our sense of smell can help our sense of taste in experiencing the flavors of our e-liquids. Years of smoking have damaged our taste buds. Exhaling some vapor can allow our nose to detect flavor and aroma molecules to help us better recognize flavors.

Yah what Baditude said. He's like a sober version of me. Kidding, also remember to drink a lot of water. Especially at night before bed. Some fruit juicies during the day help. Sodas can make good palette cleansers too.

Prior to vaping I hated drinking plain water. And hated diet drinks of any kind. So coffee and tea where my go to drinks.
Now that I vape. I love water. (go figure) I have a large bottle with me all the time. I am not drinking near what is recommended a day in water (64 oz?... I am doing about half that). My coffee urge has also gone down. which is very odd.

I hardly ever exhaled out of my nose while doing analogs. With vaping a do so... But heres the weird part. Most of the time only one nostril works. When the other does work its much less than the other. Just something odd. Wonder if I have a deviated septum.

Hm. I've always wondered why I taste some flavors better on the exhale through the nose.
Interesting.

oh wow, I just exhaled this thai iced tea from ahlusions through my nose and you can't taste it but it is spicy.
making my nose itchy lol

OP I hate throat hit.
So I usually stick to 100% vg and at 11-12 mg nic I don't have a problem
With a pg/vg blend however it's usually too harsh and I would have to do like 6 mg nic

Hi @Baditude, Do ya just buy blank cartomizers and fill them up yourself?

What brand cartomizers do ya buy, and are they 510 or KR808? Is there a website? Thanks!!!
