Throat hit question

If the main variables for throat hit are PG percentage and nicotine strength, how can a 100% VG juice (like AVE's Havana Gold) have way more throat hit than a PG-heavier juice (like Johnson's Creek's tobacco flavors, which I think are around 70/30) at the same nicotine level?

The flavorings can also have an effect on TH.

air intake placement relative to coil build also has an impact on throat hit.

Are you using Johnson's creek red oak? The red oak is 100% vg.
Ya the flavor will also effect th. to me darker richer flavors like choc and rich tobacco have much more than a light flavor like fruit.

I'm not using Red Oak, so it's high PG.

I guess that's what confused me--I'm comparing the two on the same setup, both at 18 mg/mL of nic, both tobacco flavors. The JC is a much darker liquid, and has PG, but has much less throat hit than the AVE juice, which is lighter and 100% VG. I guess it's due to flavorings?
