From manufacturers I've corresponded with, cartomizers last 40% longer (150 vs. 250 puffs) than the 3 piece e-cig cartridge. May depend on type of e-cig - mini, super mini..., but the cartomizers are much cheaper to replace than a permanent atomizer.

refill cartomizers 3 times????? i don't get it. so if they last 3 days you're satisfied?
i'm on the same 510 atty for going on 4 months
please let me know if a cartomizer lasts that long or are they so super
cheap you chuck em every few days.
I consider 80 cents apiece very cheap.

I've never been able to get an atty to last a couple of weeks, let alone months! The convenience of the cartos is worthwhile IMHO - even if they cost 2 bucks each and only lasted a day - still cheaper than analogs.
I became accustomed to dripping and enjoyed it. Now that I have a nicostick and the cartos, what i need to carry around with me has decreased tremendously - a spare 510 battery, spare nicostick battery, and a couple of cartos. No chargers or juice. The combo of cartos and a battery that lasts all day has been quite liberating!

I think it's safe to say, it's a matter of opinion and what works for each user. Just like not everyone would agree that my Prius is a good car but I think it is

DC, I've got to tell you that I'm not experiencing any burnt or charred filler on the 510 carto's I'm using now. I always take them apart to check and while I used to see charred filler, I'm not seeing it anymore. I don't know why it's stopped happening, but it has. I refill about 4-5 times then toss them. I'm using a Fistpack set on 4.3v. Zero charring!

that's what I plan on doing Mick Although I can drip at work it's just a pain to make sure my "bag" is packed each day with the juice, attys and charger. I go thru an eGo batt about every 5-6 hours......I'm vapeing my brains out!

My concern is with completely eliminating burning filler material.
And I don't mean if you do this, or do that, but completely no matter what you do or don't do.
I really don't care what anybody puts in their lungs.
But the FDA will some day, and the burning filler issue MUST disappear.
To whatever extent this issue has been addressed, that is progress.
But change is not going to come if people don't address the issue.
That's all I'm saying.
And I don't mean if you do this, or do that, but completely no matter what you do or don't do.

Ok, where do we get cheap cartomizers, filled with non nasty juice, that are cheap? (for 510/ego ) ?

What you really should do it buy blank cartomizers, and fill them up yourself.

If anyone is having problems with burning material, you may not be saturating the material enough. I was having the same issue because the video I followed said to put 3 drops in the condom method. The taste was aweful and I kept thinking I had bad cartos. Then I read about the spinning method and was able to fit in 35 drops. That's a lot of drops that equates to a lot of vaping without having to stop and top off.
What I do now is leave the condom and plug on the battery end, pop off the silicone stopper and drip 15 drops in along the side so it doesn't go in the center tube. Put the silicone stopper back on along with the condom. I fashioned a "spinner" out of an old marker tube to hole the carto (batt end down) and tie a 2' string to the other end of the tube through holes I drilled in the end. Spin it around for a bit to force the juice into the material. When you are done spinning, take the mouthpiece condom off and pop off the silicone stopper. The material will look dry and fresh as if you never added any juice. This is because the liquid was force down into the carto by the centrifugal force. Then I repeat the process again with 15 more drops. Now I have 30 drops in there and can fit another 5 in without leaking. Yes, it's a long process, but the 5 minutes spent allows for a long time of vaping and not having to swap carts on my hour drive to and from work.

I fill a large cap to 3/4s full... I couldn't imagine 3 drops... That would last you all of 3 minutes?
I think those were the instructions for the old cartomizers. They didn't hold much liquid. The newer model cartos hold much more.
cartos are very convenient but I drip mostly using lr 510s.. I get better flavor and a fuller th from attys. However using a carto at 5v is a different story and does extremely well on my GLV.
