Illyria brings up a good question though. What happens to all the atomizers that suppliers get back from people that think they were bad but really were not? I'm pretty sure I saw Steve from PS post somewhere that he got atys back all the time claiming to be bad but were perfectly good. They arn't gonna just thow them away.

Actually, I'd say they would trash them. The Chinese produce them so cheaply, that it would be uneconomical to repair them. They would have to pay someone to sort, examine, and determine what is needed for repairs.

That's why companies throw away those boxes of odd nuts & bolts that are laying around every maintenance shop. Too expensive to pay a person to sit for hours and sort them out.

Wipe them off, blow them out, add a few drops of juice to prime it and you'll be fine. I do this with all my new attys. Cuts down on the nasty taste of the primer.

BUT!! If you're not going to use them right away, don't clean them up. Clean them right before use.

sSoak the atomizer you want to use in alcohol (clear, fairly high percent) for an hour or so. Remove, rinse in well in hot water and blow it out a number of times. Let dry with battery side up on a paper towel. Prime it Very Well (Put juice on, wait, put more on, wait, let it soak in). Do not flood so go slow. Then drip and vape a number of times before putting on a full cartridge.

The primer taste will be gone and the oily feeling will be gone after the alcohol. Do atomizers one at a time and let others stay in primer until you need to use them. It's protecting them, but I know the oily kind and I won't vape what smells like machine oil.

I've tried this method and found that it is not worth my time or trouble.

Instead I blow it out, then put paper towel in contact with the bridge for a minute or two to absorb much of the primer, then I re-prime with my juice of choice. The primer is gone in just a few (non-inhaled) hits then I add a couple more drops and install the cartridge. I put a new atomizer into service and working great in about 5 minutes this way.

Lots of people, lots of methods and opinions. Experiment a little and find what works best for you.

Back on topic: I suspect that most vendors ship 'bad' attys back to their vendors in batches for replacement, at least that's what I would do rather than 'eating' the cost or reselling the 'not bad' ones.

I agree with this if they were being returned to China. But what about a US based supplier. When they get back supposedly dead atomizers do they all immediately go in the trash? I'd be willing to bet that 80% of the one's people send back are not bad at all but didn't work do to operator error like no contact with the battery or flooded.

Hello fello Vapeheads,
I am pretty new to vaping and I absolutley love it. I started out with the 901's, then my brother (bless his heart) sent me the m401 starter kit. I have only had the 401 for a couple of weeks and I'm not sure if it's the atty, battery or the charger but I am getting no hit or vapor. The blue LED just starts to blink on and off. I don't have a voltmeter and probably wouldn't know how to use one either. Just wondering if it sounds like my batteries or the atty? Anybody?

That sounds like a battery problem to me. When my batteries get down on charge they blink 10 to 15 times, I guess this is to tell me to charge it. Most kits come with 2 batteries, if it did, try the other battery, if it didn't then it's time to get some spare parts in so you do not have to go back to analogs. JMHO

That's a good possibility. I think that most of these so called dead attys are still good.

In the US, I don't know, but the Chinese are probably whacking these out for about 10 cents each. They wouldn't bother.

It happens with both batteries, so I still am not sure which part is causing the problem, batteries, charger or the atty. BTW, I do have some parts on order. I will definitley have to get several more to have on hand. I ran out of juice once and it KILLED me to have to get a pack of analogs :nah:

Thanks for the reply!

Well, I have deduced that it was the charger...The connection is broken.
